Its a similar situation with the Cactus Jack theme, if you watch footage of his return at MSG in 97 on any recent WWE DVD they play some god awful generic theme. They also play Real American over Hogan entrances in the 80's before he acually used the theme

This was used this for the simple reason that the nWo theme had riffs of Jimmi Hendrix and to avoid having to pay a royalty. That is the only reason

They used it at the time but now dub over all the footage as they don't think its worth it anymore

It's because the nWo theme was a production music theme called "Rockhouse" by Focus Music Production, and composed by Frank Shelley. Production music is music that is available to use by paying a license fee for it's use. The WWE simply did not want to spend the money to license Rockhouse, so they used this version which costs them nothing.

Booker T's original theme is also stock (as well as WWE themes like The original Hardyz theme and Hardcore Hollys which randomly appear in adverts now and again.) WWE dont use it in DVD/game releases because they dont want to pay royalties.
