I'd like to see the documentation regarding precisely how this revolver is attributed to Jessie James. Frank James, on the other hand, swore by and carried a Remmington .45 cal. revolver and that revolver has some autheticity (paper trail) behind it. Keep in mind that The Widow, James (bad by's mommy) was quite a hustler after her son's death and she sold numerous "authentic" Jessie James revolvers to the gulible long after his death. @Rio797 Sorry, you got yourself some wrong info... The Colt Single Action Army was much more accurate. Even the 9 inches barrel was more accurate than any Schofield. The S&W revolvers only came to be the most accurate some ripe years later. :D
@beckerqueiroz You're quite right. The great appeal of the Schofield was it's break open action allowing the gun to be unloaded and reloaded an a much faster rate than the colt. The colt also had a stronger frame where as the Schofield had the possibility of the latch malfunctioning and the gun breaking open by accident (although this would be after much wear).
@beckerqueiroz The longest Schofields were about 7 inches... Now it's fucking common sense that a revolver with a 9 INCH BARREL is going to be more accurate than a revolver with a 7 INCH BARREL. IT'S PHYSICS.
And as for "Not as powerful" You are a fool. Tell me, are you aware that they make these Schofields in .45 COLT now? Not the shorter .45 schofield anymore but now the genuine .45 colt. Had they done that slight modification back in the day, not only would custer have won, but the Schofield would be the weapon remembered instead.

@motlencore89 because it came in .45 Schofield, which was slightly shorter than the .45 Colt that the SAA used, the .45 Schofield (in Blackpowder) generated about 250 - 400 Joules of energy, while the .45 Colt (in Blackpowder) generated about 600 Joules. Someone correct me if im wrong.
@enok90 dont modern Schofeilds (Uberti, Navy Arms, etc.,) use the 45 LC. but if your talking wild west the Scofeild only came in 45 scofeild so i guess that gave the power edge to the colt.

Nice to see the revover getting some (careful) use as it was intended. I shoot an old Smith #3 in .44 Russian. It is a hoot & accurate too. Black powder only for these guns.
Tip for anyone firing one of these revolvers: Only use black powder loaded cartridges with lead bullets.....and, please keep all your fingers from getting in front of the cylinder while handling the loaded firearm.
Prof, yes, it was a reduced power load because we were catching all the bullets we shot out of it. The NRA Foundation is auctioning off 350 shadow boxes with the rounds. I wrote that music! and yes Mike, it's an original and yes, we've shot the LCP.

I'd like to see the documentation regarding precisely how this revolver is attributed to Jessie James. Frank James, on the other hand, swore by and carried a Remmington .45 cal. revolver and that revolver has some autheticity (paper trail) behind it. Keep in mind that The Widow, James (bad by's mommy) was quite a hustler after her son's death and she sold numerous "authentic" Jessie James revolvers to the gulible long after his death. Cool revolver, BUT is it really Jessie Jame's revolver?

@Rio797 Sorry, you got yourself some wrong info... The Colt Single Action Army was much more accurate. Even the 9 inches barrel was more accurate than any Schofield. The S&W revolvers only came to be the most accurate some ripe years later. :D

@beckerqueiroz You're quite right. The great appeal of the Schofield was it's break open action allowing the gun to be unloaded and reloaded an a much faster rate than the colt. The colt also had a stronger frame where as the Schofield had the possibility of the latch malfunctioning and the gun breaking open by accident (although this would be after much wear).

@motlencore89 because it came in .45 Schofield, which was slightly shorter than the .45 Colt that the SAA used, the .45 Schofield (in Blackpowder) generated about 250 - 400 Joules of energy, while the .45 Colt (in Blackpowder) generated about 600 Joules. Someone correct me if im wrong.

Nice to see the revover getting some (careful) use as it was intended. I shoot an old Smith #3 in .44 Russian. It is a hoot & accurate too. Black powder only for these guns.
Tip for anyone firing one of these revolvers: Only use black powder loaded cartridges with lead bullets.....and, please keep all your fingers from getting in front of the cylinder while handling the loaded firearm.

Prof, yes, it was a reduced power load because we were catching all the bullets we shot out of it. The NRA Foundation is auctioning off 350 shadow boxes with the rounds. I wrote that music! and yes Mike, it's an original and yes, we've shot the LCP.
