Are you using this for a "wet cell" set up or "dry cell"? If the purpose for this method is to keep liquid from traveling into your intake, I suggest any inline check valve or better yet a moisture trap used with air compressors. More advanced setups can include a 3 stage system that completely dries the air. I've used them with my sprayfoam insulation rig, and when sandblasting to keep moisture out of the air line. Great vids by the way. Keep it up, thanks.
@GenericUth I was using these originally to try to filter out the vapor that comes as a result of using KOH for electrolyte, but it didn't work too well with the green scrubbing pads.
I actually ended up taking using small pieces of a sham-wow cloth instead, and it worked like a charm. I also put an inline fuel filter as a secondary filter. The filters are inline after a bubbler, so I don't really have a problem with moisture.
I like the simplicity of this idea but not quite sure how the impurities are filtered out with just the screening? It is mostly the alkaline residue that can cause issues- are you saying this neutralizes that? How often does it need to be changed?
First I use the filter in the video above, then I use an inline fuel filter, and then I use a charcoal filter (aquarium type) to catch any remaining foreign impurities. It may not be the most scientific method, but it seems to work well and it is inexpensive.
no, did not use bubbler. But now my dry cell not heating anyover 30C. i hope not a steam out. i solved that problem. i made drier in water tank. i used dish washing sponge. no foam will out. i will show you later.
The one I use is 6" long and I have no flow restriction , the key is to not pack it in....I have another that is around 10" x 2" and have little to no flow restriction ..As long as its not packed the flow will be fine ..
I hope you have better luck than i did. I used the green pad but the hho ate the pad. on the plus side it took over 200 hrs to dissolve it. your design is a little different so you maybe on to something. I look forward to see how it works.
Hmm I haven't had that happen with mine , Was yours getting any electrolyte vapor on it .....I have been using the same pad for over a yr now ,have never replaced it ..
I think you are right. after thinking about what you said i most have been getting electrolyte vapor on the pad because it did not take long and the pad was gone. But the water was a nice green color!!
what is the total miles you have driven on HHO ?
thanks,

hello man
is this work as a flash back arrestor for hho gas ?????????

thanks for all the videos
with the filter i would add bit of brass wool for little insurance
thanks for ideas

It isn't a flashback device, it is only a filter, but I'm sure with a little brass wool it could double as a flashback device also.
Good idea, thanks for the comment.

Wouldn't the air filter capture the impurities as long as you were feeding into the intake prior to the filter?
nuyork77 2 years ago
Yes it would, but air filters could get expensive if you had to change them out every week.

This can be used as flashback arrestor or only use of simple filter ?
Fushigi000 2 years ago
It is just a filter to remove impurities in the vapor that could damage an engine.
HHO4ALL 2 years ago
How important is it to use something like that?!
RisingSun350 2 years ago
If you are using KOH or LYE for electrolyte and your fuel cell is connected to a vehicle, it is a necessity.
The vapor that is created from KOH & LYE will break down any aluminum parts that it comes in contact with in your engine.
The filter helps to prevent the harmful vapor from entering your engine, plus it can help to give a cleaner flame if you are using it for a torch.

Good to know.

Bronze works well, but it is expensive.

i tested it before. but it restrict when it is wet. also become wet quickly. kkk

Did you have it after the bubbler?
There should not be moisture after the bubbler unless the water is overheated and you are making steam.

I think I am going to try that!
will making it longer work better???
Thanks HHO4ALL
GoGreenHHOhybrid 2 years ago
I'm not sure if making it longer will be any better, because it may restrict the air-flow too much.
I made it small because I didn't want to have problems with back pressure.
You can also make it with 1/4" pieces instead of 1/2".

Yeah man the scrub pad thing is cheap and very effective..I know there are better ways to dry the gas but for the money you cant beat it ....
Looks good man ...

I'm sure I could exchange the green pad for something else like a sponge or maybe bronze wool.
