problem with cement is that is not for high temperatures and starts cracking and falling down on food as sand-dust .....that's why the gap in between bricks has to be reduced to minimum .
holy shit that things unreal!! such a good end result. would love to try and build one myself could you send me a meterials list so i have an idea of whats involved it looks like theres quite a few different sized bricks in there

@antonthesoccerlegend the best you can use instead of fire bricks are hand made bricks, just the old red classic bricks that are not pressed . the only worries could be that in the long term could start dropping small parts on the food but with a regular maintenance like an overall brushing or rendering with fire cement to the internal side of the dome can last for very long time.
That's a wonderful video! I LOVED that your doggie had his proper place in your video. I particularly was impressed that one can bake their husband if they need to. LOL Thanks for making this.. sincerely impressed!
thanks ! Those bricks come in 2 different angles or shapes, my supplier call them 55 and 65 mm on one side, so the combination of them give me that arch .
hi Jackie, it takes around 1.5 hour to heat up to top temperature. To cool down can take more than 24 hours. A top quality pizza takes 3 minutes to cook. This dome shaped or pompeian domes ovens are better as the heat works on refraction against the top and then coming down in every direction.
I wouldnt build one like this if you paid me. For a start why the hell would you put a fire chimney at the front? all the smoke and heat will hit you soon as you open the door. every fire cooking type of stove i have seen has the chimey in the center or at the back. you might as well live in this one for a shelter lol.
thanks for watching my videos and for your comment. What you are showing is just complete ignorance about this kind of wood fired ovens that are called pompeian dome. The reason why the chimney is at the front is that in this way the heat from burning runs all the way inside the oven heating the dome till they go away form the top of the door arch and the second reason is that in this way when you close the door the heat remains inside the dome cooking for longer time holding the heat inside.
I wonder if it could heat a house. Maybe he has a hut video...and we can do third world living...since he told Europe he wants our taxes to go to the third world...to even things out. Although I do love his wood fired oven...it's very classy. I just think with cap and trade...our companies will all leave so where they can make a profit. No one will be able to afford anything. It will drive costs of EVERYTHING up.
que lindo horno loco!! que envidia que me da, me encantaria tener algo asi en el patio de casa, lastima que soy tan inutil para los trabajos manuales jaja

hi, great video. THank you. Just one question, why was the chimney put in the front section or the entrance of the oven and NOT inside the dome part?
cheers,
oceantrolls73 9 months ago
@oceantrolls73 Hi, thanks for watching my videos.
The reason of the chimney at the front, out of the dome is because in that way the heat stays inside after you close the door cooking for longer .

cutting all those bricks in the dome for shape, must be a whole lot of work and precicion comes out super, cheers mate.
question, if you made it simple and used a lot of concrete and regular cut bricks, would it then fall down? thanks

Hi we are planning to make a wood fired oven for pizza and i have a few questions.
1. how long will it take to heat up the oven?
2. how long will it take before it cools down?
3. how long will it take for pizzas to cook?
4. Which is better, a tomb shaped oven or this dome shaped one that you made?
Hope you can give me a Lil' of your time for these questions: thanks!
and anybody out there who is knowledgeable about wood ovens please give me more info.
thanks so much!!!!
