Develop a vibrato and you could be a professional, but trust me, to be great, you need vibrato. I've been getting my vibrato together in the past 2-3 months, and I really am starting to be good.
Great job mate! Hats off!! And if you don't mind, this will be rip'd and put into my chillout-folder so I can listen to it whenever I need to chill down and just relax. :)
...BRO,THAT'S REALLY GREAT,.....YOU SHOULD TRIED WITH OASIS SONG...'DON'T LOK BACK IN ANGER'...I BET YOU SONG HAD TREMENDOUS EFFECT...TRY IT MAN......
Thanx for the support. :) Obviously I know there is no comparison to the real version but I'm leaving this video up here because I think at least some people enjoy hearing different interpretations of great songs.
Btw, please check out some of my other videos - I just put up a piano only version of Magnificent!
Oh by the way you do the G# diminished every second time. not just for that part. So all of the choruses and the coda goes like that. 1 normal with Gmajor, then the second with G# dim. That way you do a cadence. Hope this doesn't piss you off and you use the information :)
You should also try using more than 1 microphone while recording the piano. 1 microphone will make you lose lots of the piano's timber as well as some of it's middle ranges. I like the effort though.
Also. The whole C-C1st inversion- F- C-G-Am part. What you do is play the first like that.
but when you're singing don't say that later will be better now you're stuck... just when you're singing the word "stuck" there you're playing a G but it's supposed to be a G#diminished and then Am. Just try this because it's how the Edge plays it otherwise the song doesn't make much sense. Nice control over voice. Why don't you try this in D major ? I'm sure your voice can handle it.
that's a good point, i missed this chord change from G to G# and stayed on G. reg. the singing, i did this in key of B and that's comfortable. i could probably go as high as Dflat but then it's really pushing it.
thx but i disagree on this point. i admit i couldn't tell on the first chorus if it's D or Dmin, but on the second chorus i clearly hear the F# note of the D.
That's the thing. The first bridge before chorus it's a minor and the second one is major as you said. but usually live they do both minors. The second bridge compared to the first is a little more constructed as well so the major is for that I'm thinking. But it would suit your voice well if you did a minor in the first one. The piano and your voice etc, it's a good match. :)
Yah I used the same mic to record piano and then to record the vocal on another track. I can't remember the exact studio mic, i think it was an MXL and cost about 125$. Check out my wave of sorrow cover, i think the vocal came out a bit better and i used a keyboard instead, plugged it direct and panned it for stereo effect.
Great Job man. I have a Korg 3200 also, they're excellent for Home Recording and with some time and experience working with them they can produce CD's on par with all but the most elaborate (read super expensive) equipment. Did you mic the Piano and vocals independently or did you just let the vocal mic pick up the piano? Also what mic/mics are you using. Again nice Job
I really like your version of the song. I play piano too, and this is a song I'm thinking of attempting when I next play live. I've listened to yours a couple of times now for inspiration :)
Wow thanks dude. Funny enough, the piano part was just supposed to be the guide track but I couldn't redo the piano properly b/c i didn't use a metronome, hence the more simple arrangement. Sometimes simple is the way to go anyway. Hope you can work out a nice arrangement for your gigs. :) later.
Hi Yonz, your video is beautiful. Your voice is gentle and lovely and your piano background is so pleasing. I love the images of New York too. Very cool!
Wow! thank you guys for the really nice comments, it means a lot. I'll see what I can do about the lifehouse song Everything when i'm back home. I've already listened to it and i'll see how well it translates to a piano version. love yonz :)
Yoni- this was so beautiful, I actually started tearing up. Your voice is amazing. I would love it if you could do a piano solo of my wedding song on here! It is by Lifehouse and the song is called Everything. I know it is a longshot since you do the U2 stuff on here....but I must say- your voice is just beautiful. Keep posting more stuff.
wait a min ,, is this you singing ???
I loved it

This is my favorite song, normally I hate covers of it. This was not perfect, but absolutely excellent. Congrats for a fantastic effort.

I never thought you were a fool part.
You're playing (since you use a different key) Am-F-D
it's supposed to be Dm there.
