I like your tutorials. Time is passing by while following them but i do have a little problem. When I was making the #menu a. My result doesn't is the same like yours. The menu does not first shows vertical but stays horizontal. Wwhen i call up the buttons we made in photoshop I get 2 rows of buttons. I don't get just 5 buttons like you. Their is something I do wrong but I just can't find the difference in code. pls reply I often look to your site and I have to say. Very good work!!!
assalm o alaikum ali..i am having the problem with the display of the menu buttons..they are not displayed above with the logo..they are displaying themselves outside and exactly downwards
hey Ali, I have a question...What if I want to put already made buttons instead of putting a background...like custom made buttons...for eg I want white button in 1st block, pink in 2nd block..how to do this? pls reply.....am waiting....
for my buttons i made them pretty much the exact same as yours, there are 6 buttons and all but 2 are rounded at the edge, the 2 are complete squares, also the 2 middle ones are most apart from the others say 10 pixels further from the ones to left/right how do i fix this?
Your tutorials are awesome. You've made understanding css much easier for me. I have followed through really well but I just want to know if the css works the same with dreamweaver mx 2004 because I cant get rid of the bullets. They are not there in dreamweaver but when i preview my file in mozilla firefox and IE, the bullets are still there :(
I have been having extreme trouble understanding the boundaries of the whole menu set (menu, ul, li (I understand the li), menu a); I will watch all your css tutorials again and draw pictures this time. I'm using Joomla, milkyway template with my own css which I do not recommend anyone messing with a template until one year after they 'think' they understand css. Anyway, you have explained it very well but css is a new way of thinking and I'm not stopping until I have no more confusion.

Hey jordan0076. I would check to see if the div in the css you are adding padding to has a height or width in there. If you find you have a height and width in the same div as you apply padding you need to subtract the amount of padding of that. So lets say you have a width of 400px and you add 10px padding to left or right, you need to change the width to 390px now. This is the same for the height. Let me know how you get on
@1stoptutorials Hi Ali, that makes some sense, i will give it a try. I am just getting my head around web design, still a long way to go yet. Thanks for the advice much appreciated.
display:inline; function makes your links become horizontal, if you did not add it your links would be vertical. Also you add a float left because it will bring your links up into line. Try it, don't add a float left and you will see what i mean. Thanks
Did you put them in a block and add a margin. Generally that is done in the a tag ask it to display block and then add some margins, normally left or right works. let me know how you get on
such good tutorials. WE SHOULD ALL BE VERY GREATFUL TO ALI

Why is it necessary to add float:left to the anchot tag, as well as disply:inline to the li tags ?
Isn't this some sort of duplication ?

Only thing I'm confused by is the "bottom no-repeat." Does this mean to take the graphic and put it flush to the bottom of the block?
Does the 'no-repeat' mean, "Don't repeat the graphic within the block?"
