Are you sure? I think you're thinking about the 2013 911 (codename 991), which is an "all new" design. This is a codename 997 Carrera from the looks of it, which means saabkyle got it right.

u know why the key left side?

because in CarSport when at PitStop a Driver Change comes and the engine is off. u can make the engine on, with the left hand and at the same time u can put the first gear with the right hand.

so its just faster to jump in car and move.

with other cars (keyhole Rightside) u have just the right hand, the first step is put with right hand the key into keyhole, second step , put first gear.

that need more time then the PORSCHE Style, Porsche Style is save one step
