I just got Painter and a tablet for my Birthday and I'm at a loss. I have no clue how to use the tablet with the Painter. I know a few brushes, but I don't know how to color in my lineart at all.

I get so mad ugh....

Psh. I'm used to using the Pen/Lasso Tools.

I've always wondered how people ink and have their lines PERFECT. I should use the brush for inking. Maybe not on Painter though. Awesome Tutorial though.

As an artist, my dear friend, perfection takes the three P's of art that are my self principles to me: Patience, Practice, and Possibilities. Well, of course if you want those lines perfect, practice makes perfect. If you just can't seem to get it right, keep teaching yourself and try new things. The POSSIBILITIES are endless. And patience... oh, my how that is a key factor. There is no need to rush, just be patient on drawing something. Well, I'm running out of characters, I can go on you know.

I know you said you use the color pencil, but when I use it its very grainy, rough and not smooth like your lines. Are there settings I need to change?

ya its your paper thats rough and you just need to turn the roughness all the way down hope that helps..

i had that same problem, then i found i was using the color pencil (even though there is a variation of such called cover colored pencil) but somewhere in the list there is just 'pencil' rather than 'color pencil' and choose the variation called 'cover pencil'

it has a slight air brush look which can't be helped except that reiq here works very large scale so once he zooms out, the lines look much cleaner.

Actually, he's using the Cover Pencil, which is found in the Pencils category. It's one of a few Pencils that doesn't set the blending mode to "gel" when working on a new layer. Not sure about the settings he's using, but try changing the size of the brush with the [ and ] shortcut keys to create variations in the lines.

True, always check your layers...

... one time I accidently merged all of my layers on a poster sized piece I was working on and didn't realize I did so until I saved and closed the program. Very heartbreaking.

Este video solo lo publique en Ingles por que el video original lo perdi junto con los archivos de edicion y fue el primero que hice hya los que vienen si estan y estaran en los dos idiomas asi que pendiente :D

Just press the letter E on your keyboard and you'll be able to do also you can find it in the tools menu :D

If I'm not wrong, I think he's using an Intuos 3 from wacom . com website. That pad and others are available through the website.

In this video I used a Wacom Intuos 3 but Currently I'm using a Wacom Cintiq 12WX which is much better.
