@albusfr-its called a lip plate....its a tradition that stayed w/ these tribe ppl from back in the day. it all strted wen the muslims were taking ppl from Ethiopia as slaves. and the tribe ppl came up w/ an idea that if they made themselves look as ugly as possible then they will not be taken as slaves, and thus started to expand their lips by putting those lip plates in there. but 2day its seen as a sign a beauty wen it was actually a defense mechanism. im Ethiopian.

I disagree, I think that eradicating native culture is a very, very bad thing indeed.

There is a prevalent perception, throughout Africa, that countrys should westernise and that the only way to do so is to destroy native cultures.

The unspeakable things that are happening to the Masai and the Bushmen are evidence of that.

You do not have to wipe out tribal culture to be accepted by the IMF, if that is what you want.

@asubjectiveopinion In fact I'm not in favor of westernizing Africa. However, there is a lot of things getting wrong due harmful culture which is almost everywhere on earth. Therefore, what I have to say is that human being shouldn't suffer due to some cultures. I born in Africa and I have seen communities affected due to some very dangerous cultures and I don't want see that anymore. If you appreciate that I have to know more why you do so.
