  • Nice one!!!

  • That made me sad when they were talking about Death in the interview in playboy and when it ended it play "Im only Sleeping"....in a way thats another happier way to think of it

  • Mark David Chapman really opened Pandora's Box.

  • das problem ist ,es gibt soviele scheiß filio di putana, stronzzo arschlöscher david chapman's.auf der welt..............................................ilove you john lennon your are the only god.........

FUck You david fuckman rest in hell ashole arschloch verrecken sollst du......

  • oh my god.....i actually cried when they said John was dead. X,(

FUCK YOU MARK DAVID CHAPMEN!!!! I HOPE YOU ROT IN FUCKING HELL!!!!!FUCK YOU, YOU SICK SON OF A CUNT-ASS, PUSSY-BURNING, FUCK FACE BITCH!!!!

  • I remember "dialing" on my radio that night, too. At first there were 2 stations playing ALL Beatles, then 4, then 6 then 10, then ALL, country western, classical, jazz, rock, oldies, talk radio was talking about John, everything on the radio was a buzz with John's tradgedy. And, it was eerie that the radio was where John did all his work. Really, no other human being could do a thing like this upon their death. It will never happen again with anyone. John touched so many, and now we must do it.

  • If Mark David Chapman ever gets out of prison I doubt he'd live even a week. There's just too many people in the world who have wanted him dead since 1980.

  • properly not even an hour.

  • Its all good. I think Mind games was his best but I think every record gave some insight into his mind and ideas.

  • Why did they call Chapman a local crazy when he came from Hawaii. I just get the feeling there's more to the assassination than meets the eye. John was seen as a danger by the Nixon administration, he was for peace, they were not.

  • “imagine no possessions.” At his death in 1980, his estate was worth in excess of $275 million.

  • @lakersteve Because he needed that money to advertise more peace and actually SPONSOR peace. You fucking twit.

  • Comment removed

  • LOL!! Advertise more "Peace"? Then why did someone want him dead if he was really about advocating "Peace"? Please... stop boring me... and I will not stoop to your third grade sandbox tactic of name-calling. Give some rational thought to your reply.

  • @lakersteve Someone tried to kill him because the guy who killed him was mentally insane. If you look at an interview staring the guy who killed him (Mark Chapman) he thought he would gain his fame if he killed him. Oh btw, you are still a fucking idiot, prick, twit.

  • @ConductorPeaches The guy, Mark David Chapman yes, was a nut and the twit. Your anger and madness is being directed at the wrong person. John Lennon wanted us to imagine no possessions, but yet he had many. Yet he died inf front of his luxury apartment home where he lived for 7 years. He wanted us to Imagine no God. I wonder if he's imagining that now.

  • @lakersteve ...God is an idea created by man.

  • @ConductorPeaches Ok, let's say that's true for sake of argument... So what if He was. What's that to you? What/who do you worship? Other than John Lennon obviously.

  • @lakersteve LMAO. I don't have to (and don't) worship ANYBODY. I look up to John Lennon because of all the good he did in the world. I don't "Worship" him. I just think he was a talented, nice guy that tried to make other people happy.

  • ConductorPeaches: This is what you emailed me..."And get the fuck out of Youtube you ignorant piece of shit trash. All John Lennon wanted to is spread peace. Why do you have to go on Youtube just to spread hate and piss people off?" Be a man and post in public... don't send me private messages or I'll keep posting them. John Lennon wasn't all about peace. He offended many religious people for his "Beatles are more popular than Jesus" comment. And he never apologized for it.

  • @lakersteve Oh, and by the way. Why would you even comment on this fucking video knowing you are only going to spread hate and piss people off? Fucking idiot.

  • @lakersteve No duh. The Beatles made him rich and all his other royalties from other projects.

But 'imagine no possesions " is more a thought in John's song than John actually saying " hey! who needs possessions".

  • @godstomper dude, really? Put down the hippie lettuce and really think about what you said, 'Imagine no possessions' is more a thought in John's song..." So all his sit-ins and rallies about giving peace a chance were just thoughts? He really didn't put them to practice?

  • @lakersteve Well he did put into practice his beliefs for world peace but I didn't hear about John selling off his Rolls Royce or his acre estate in England to fund his pursuit for world peace. And then again he also said in his song "Do you want a Revolution" , " you can count me out ( In). " There was always two sides to John's thoughts and actions.

  • @godstomper fair enough. Look, i like John Lennon's music... I think Double Fantasy was his best output. I just didn't always agree with his politics or worldview.

  • I hate today and what the loss it represents. As much as I hate the modern cult of celebrity obsession, John Lennon belonged to the world not because he was in a sex tape, or a reality tv show, but plainly because he brought art to the entire planet. A sad day.

  • I remember turning on the radio when John was murdered and hearing almost every station playing Beatles music.Listening to this takes me back to how sad I felt and still do.

  • guy at 1:48 said it the best

  • Almost 30 years since this happened. Time flies. It really does.

  • Listening to this made my throat choke up...so sad, so senseless, so tragic...I love you, Johnny

  • I was 13 at the time and was too young to really understand what was lost. I am 43 now-amazing. Still think about him all the time.

  • Like Hendrix, Morrison, Kobain. Elvis, Heath Ledger. Bon Scott. James Dean. and the many other artists who left us before we were ready to say goodbye. He and his music will carry his memory for ever and we will always remember them as they were. Great and influential. Not wasted by the ravages of age and/or the drugs they experienced. In a way, they are forever young.

  • @bloodeytear John wouldnt want anyone hurt or killed. not even the man that killed him. And it was Mark David Chapman not Mark Dave Chaplyn...

  • @yoyomoo188 No. Fake fan right there. you mentioned your age, youre an obvios poser. man you have no idea how amazing he was. I'm 14 but you dont see me bragging about how old i am and how great i am for crying bout john lennon.

  • @XdisXesXwhyXimXhawtX A twelve year-old isn't allowed to enjoy John Lennon! How dare he! You're a retard.

  • @allinalli really? all you got out of this was that '"he's just like harry potter"?!? Wow...

  • @1SPYRO - Quite accurate comment!

John Lennon killed in the gun-crazed USA.

Guns for the military and law enforcement ONLY, per the "well-regulated militia" portion of the antiquated 2nd amendment.

  • @tripjet999

Typical liberal. Which of our rights would you strip next? If guns had been outlawed, Lennon probably would have been shot anyway, since criminals can get guns like you can get a bottle of water. If not shot, he would have been stabbed, then you'd be whining for us all to eat our steak with spoons.

Fucking Nazi. Mind your own life and stop meddling in the lives of others.

  • How could somebody take away someone who was so beautiful?

  • To me, if anything shows that there should be stricter gun laws, it's the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, the assassination of JFK, the assassination of RFK, the assassination of MLK, the assassination of John Lennon, the "suicide" of Kurt Cobain, as just a few examples. This man stood for peace and love throughout the world, don't you think he would have wanted there to be less deaths like these? I certainly do.

  • @1SPYRO I agree.

    Justice for Kurt

  • @1SPYRO You cannot control the actions of criminals by controlling citizen's weapons. Blaming inanimate objects takes the focus away from criminals and the REAL causes of violence. Gun control is a pipe dream and dreams mean nothing.

  • @FaganRoberts No guns=John Lennon is alive

  • @1SPYRO Wish in one hand and crap in the other and see what you get!

  • @1SPYRO - Yes. And Gandhi.

  • How did you make this? Did you actually record this back then?

  • That is messed up!

  • Why did he assassinate John Lennon? John was cool!!

  • 1:11 former beatle? How can you be a former beatle?

  • @failsallaround because the beatles broke-up, it hurts to say that... and to mention the subject of the video... is even... harder :'(

  • whats that first song

  • It's "You Know My Name(Look Up The Number)".

  • whats the song playing at 6:04 right after imagine?

  • It's "I'm Only sleeping", from Revolver.

  • after hearing this (watching this vid) i really cried... ='{

R.I.P JOHN LENNON!!! WE'LL MISS YOU FOR EVER

  • Comment removed

  • Hey sneety

  • :((

  • put together nicely!!! Still miss John, and probably always will.

  • SOOOO Sad!

  • This makes me so sad. Sometimes I wonder what our world would be like today if he'd lived to a natural age. He brought so much peace and love, a magnificent life wasted

  • How surreal. John Lennon belonged to the entire world.

  • Comment removed

  • Um....that would be Paul McCartney.

  • John had an interview before he died and they asked john how do you think you"ll die. John said "I think I'll be shot by some phyco"

  • i'm not far off 40

And for me... the still are the best band ever!

  • According to someone WNBC 66 radio was off the air due to transmitter work on the night Lennon was shot.

  • Julius I've got two airchecks of WNBC stuff from early that morning. So they weren't off for too long.

  • Woul it be possible that you could send me the complete audio of those airchecks. I would love to hear them.

  • We'd love to send them. I've sent you a personal note about this.

  • ptm q horrible :( pobre john :'(

  • I cant stop crying. :(

  • how many years old was he when he died?

  • John Lennon was 40 years old when he died :(. So sad, he will be missed deeply.

  • thx yeah he will.... he was a great man anti-racist and he dreamed peace in all over the world...

  • all the radios where playing lennon and beatles song

  • haha your right!!!!

thats so sad how he died :(...

  • yah im 12 years old i cry when i here stuff about john lennon wish i was there in the 60's and got to see the beatles live.

  • 28 years later on so Long live Lennon's music...December 8th 2008.

  • I Fucking HATE Mark Chapman I hope he rots

  • 11:15

  • it's not very nice that the radio presenters are practically laughing at the man who says he wishes the media not to publish the name of the assasinator

  • Everything was haywire that night. Police Chief Sullivan released the FULL NAME AND STREET ADDRESS of the killer, with his complete itinerary and activities from the time he left Hawaii until his arrest. All reported in detail by WABC's Gus Engleman!! I've got the aircheck if you want to hear it. We taped it that night and have shared/traded with others ever since. Check Soulseek, type in "Lennon death".

  • How did you put these together, and why does it always sound like someone's flipping through radio stations?

  • We taped hours of NYC stations that night. Still have the tapes. Some of them have where we were flipping down the dial to catch different reports and tributes.

  • Comment removed

  • ksol1460, i'd love to hear that stuff.. i can help you put those on CD if you want. just drop me a line.

  • It sounds like it is a straight-up recording of just that... a channel scan through a basic home stereo captured on an audio cassette recorder.

Hearing WCBS-FM on here, and the CBS News bulletin (from WCBS-AM) it is a New York radio scene composite.

  • Everybodys Knows that wasn't a crazy man who killes to Jonh...a goverment was...is no a mysterious.

  • i wasnt even born for about 14 year and i cryed when i herd he dided i wana kill mark dave chaplyn

  • Shot at appox.10:50 PM on Dec.8,1980...rushed to Roosevelt Hospital...declared dead at 11:15 pm.

  • I was less than six years old that day, but I actually remember the news broadcasts. I didn't know who he was individually at the time, but I knew his music of course and I had a concept of who the Beatles were (just not who was in the Beatles yet).

  • I noticed the disco station scanned by at the 2:49 mark was still playing shitty disco with no tribute to Lennon

  • Wow, oh my god, it must be a conspiracy.

    Get a life.

  • I don't think there's a conspiracy behind the curtain.I just noticed that.

  • ONO!

  • Ummmm DUHHH!

  • that is weird

  • very, very, nice! who would think 28 years later someone would have these recordings of the radio on every station. R.I.P. john lennon

  • this is well done im only 20 and this is very sad
