oh wow durian is soo good! when me and my little borther were about 6 or 7 we visited our uncles durian farm for a week and one day the local children taught us how to climb the trees and knock the delicious fruit to the ground. that day we 5 children or so ate about 8 durians total and we got so sick but it was delicious. uncle gave us a beating too lolz thx for the vid

You can also boil the seed for about 20 minutes and eat it too. It has a nutty taste to it, not bad at all if you're looking to maximize the entire fruit. Let me know how you like it.

This is great, I loved how you introduced it to your friends and let them make their own opinions. I'm Thai so I was raised eating durians and I think they are the tastiest fruit in the world! And it always bothered me that people would be too chicken to try it but yet had negative things to say about it. With my experience, if you can get a person to get over the smell and just try it, most of the time, they love it. Great vid!

I had looked all over for about 2 years to see where I could find one of these locally, and I've just recently managed to find one at a larger asian market located quite far away from my home. The first time I ate it, it was good, but nowhere near as enjoyable as the second and third times I tried it (I couldn't really eat the whole thing and everyone around me seemed repulsed by it, except for my girlfriend, that is, so I froze most of it). Great video on a wonderful topic!

there's a myth that if you place salty water in the durian's empty shell and drink it, it can get rid of the bad smell from your mouth.

The mistake westerners make with Durian, is that they buy the thing and immediately try to open it at home. But sometimes, the fruit is not ripe yet, so the outershell is rock solid and the flesh hard and bitter. What you do, is you let the fruit ripe out. You can see the lines when its ripe. Then you can open it in one swoop.

This is the "king of all fruits". Next time youre in Asia, check out the "queen".

Durian can be very Smelly but, there is some interesting part of durian u guys should know.

If u ate those fruit with bare hand the smell took days to disappear, so what you need to do is wash your hand from the durian skin ( pour tap water on the skin and wash it). You'll notice the smell is off.

Being in the US, the main way I would probably try durian for the first time would be with someone of asian decent, and I wouldn't want to be like so many other videos of offensive Americans making puking noises and describing how horrible it is, especially when they're IN Malasyia or Thailand... it's just so degrading and rude. But my sensory problem triggers anxiety attacks when aggravated, so it would be something not in my control.

I would love to try durian, but I have a sensory disorder, and I'm unable to eat foods that are of a consistency such as mashed potatoes, yogurt and what durian seems to be constantly compared to - custard. Taste is not the issue, it is texture and consistency. the closest thing weve got over here is vanilla soya dessert which is OK , sometimes ive come accross custard apples , well call that once in 10 years , and that was pretty yummy too , STILL hvent tried durian though , one of the supermarkets sometimes has mangosteen , but i tend to shop local , so , still relying at the moment on vanilla soya deserts
