The spoilers are made of trailing edge stock. Relieved the ribs and framed around the spoiler. Simple monokote hinge on the front, then covered the wing and cut out the spoiler out on the sides and back leaving the hinge line intact. Cable operated by a single servo in the wing root. Works incredibly well. I'd use a single servo per spoiler if I did it again. Awesome way to kill lift on landing!!!
I'd swear that's the same glider as mine... mine is powered by a norvel .061 and apc 6x3 prop. but no spoilers since my third channel is for throttle. Mine is a "pussycat" and I can't remember the manufacturer.
Well Thomas, it was also 20 years since I had built my last glider. Now is the perfect time for you to build another one...........but step carefully and enjoy many flights!
I built a glider with the same wing structure about 20 years ago. It made one flight, and then I tripped, and fell on it by accident, and it was history.
Big HI to John from Castro Vally and Otto and Steve and Steve and can't forget don Clark.
