  • yeah and there's always someone that uses incorrect spelling and grammer while you're making a dumb ass comment as well, either you're black or a white dude trying to act black! either way you're a dumb ass! What white fool would record a video like this it doesn't make any sense at all what can I learn from this video huh think before up loading DUMBASS BITCH.

  • One time i was going in a store and there was another store with this red light and it was blinking and i heard that sound.

  • the reason why they are standing there is probably because they are waiting for more officers to show up before the go in and do a building search. or they might be watching through the windows to see if there is any motion in there. or they might be waiting for the alarm call out responder to come and disarm the system and reset it.

  • i think i see a strobe flashing

  • @Shawn09871 yeah there is a strobe flashing.

  • @Shawn09871

    its part of the alarm.

  • they will ususally come in unmarked vehicles first secretly, just driving around, then they let the actaul "squad" get there.

  • it was probably a sign hanging from the ceiling fell down and triggered the motion detector

  • Continuing... Sometimes alarms are jacked up and sounds off it's self. It's possible. OR, if not, most motion detectors detects Mice and rats and sounds off too. anything is possible.

  • Security Systems are very sensetive. It may be true that the employee armed the system, but forgot to lock the door. HOEVER, it's not possible to be like that. This BIG LOTS door has a sensor detector that automatic opens the door. if the alarm system is armed, the door would open anywayif the emloyee leaves. Especually the back doors, where people break in stores Most of the time. My stores has been break in more than 3 times and happens to the back door. Some alarm systems comes with sensor

  • Were they testing it or was it a malfunction?

  • I'm not sure cause when i pulled up in the parking lot it was already going off and cops weren't there yet. When they walked up to the door, the door opened, i'm guessing they forgot to lock it or something. I just thought it was weird how the cops just stood out front and did nothing for like 5 mins. Show how Virginia cops do there job, no wonder they don't come fast enough when you need them!!! hahaha

  • @capricorn7086 They are probably waiting for a key holder as is typical protocol for alarm responses with most security companies.

  • Continued from above post...If there is forced entry, then its better to wait and use other tactics for example K-9. Think about it... If someone is in there, then they aren't going anywhere... Why rush in and risk getting injured when there is a safer way. Every cop wants to catch the bad guy, but they also want to go home at the end of the night... Many people speculate, but dont actually understand the job. Hope this helps... Answer your questions as to "why they just stood there."

  • I know that, i was just being sarcastic in the video.

  • FYI - When police respond to an alarm, sometimes it is safer to let the bad guys come to you. If the business is closed and the alarm is going off, then they normally will have dispatch call a manager/owner who will unlock the business. At that point, the officers will check the inside.

  • The syetsem could be Policed so when somebody breaks in it would call them

  • This is off of First Colonial Road! I live not too far from here!

  • i live like two seconds away from here.

  • Don't they have security patrols responding to alarms over there. Or is it just the cops?

  • no, it was cops that came to stop the alarm, because when the cops got there, one of them walked up to the door and it opened. It was an automatic door. so they suspected someone broke in. But no security guards.

  • But in general are the alarms monitored and responded to by alarm response teams (guards), or is just the cops????

  • just the cops i would think.

  • maybe they just had troubles with the alarm and couldn't shut it off

  • lol I would be freaked if i was you, did you see the cops show up? Do you even know how it was set off?

  • no, i don't know what set it off, i was waiting for in my car for my friend to come out of kmart and all of the sudden the i hear a siren alarm going off at the store that i recorded with my digital camera. The cops pulled up, got out the car and walked up to the door, and the door opened.

  • I reckon the staff turned the alarm on but forgot to lock the door so i think a gust of wind opened the door(it is possible) and that set the alarm off. of course it could be a fault with the system.

  • you broke in and timed the cops that a good one i do that some times too good luck

  • actually i didn't break in. I was waiting for a friend to get out the store and when the cops walked up to the door, it opened. how bizarre is that?

  • god i miss virginia beach and you lol

  • and who might this be? is this rachel emler???
