Dalai Lama is a politican disguised as a monk. The 'cultural heritage' he attempts to restore is control of Tibet politcally and has nothing to do with Buddhaism.

Serf Emancpation is much more successful than the Emancpation in the US, cos in Tibet, the serfs got their lands, while in US the black slaves were only free in person.

It's a risk-taking political decision or maybe an effective weapon, as there are not many choices for Chinese authority to fight back the Free Tibet campaign at moment.

But it perhaps a good way to give a lesson of Chines history for those Free Tibet advocators. Tibet is a sensitive and complicated topic in multi-ethnic China, and you can see the big nationalism sentiment has been aroused owing to Tibet riot and Olympic torch relay in 2008.
