@juliancisthebest It's obvious they had been planning for a fourth season when this was written and filmed, the majority of sitcoms end their seasons with cliffhangers like this. At the end of this episode he says he's not sure if he's going to take the job and she takes the phone upstairs and they begin talking, who knows that the writers had planned. it would be cool to see what whould have happened though.

Yes. It was cancelled after its third season (Ritter passed away in the first season). By the time this episode aired, it was stuck in a horrible Friday night timeslot and there was no chance at syndication, so ABC pulled the plug. Never my favorite show but its characters were well-played and it ended up dealing with some very heavy storylines (the heaviest being their Dad's death - Ritter, of course). Crazy. Kuoco is doing quite well on The Big Bang Theory now.

I know, ella, but instead of "final episode", perhaps "series finale" would have been clearer. It could be interpreted that this was the final episode of Season 3. Even I was surprised to learn this show only ran for three seasons.
