Does anyone out there think that one day there will be an undersea exploration submarine very much like the fictional USS SEAVIEW? Such a craft might be prohibitively expensive in the here-and-now, but someday... hey, it could happen, right?
Actually the us navy made an experimental one the problem was the hull expansion rate vs the forward ports expansion rate limited it to depths around 1500 feet so it won't happen. Not with current technology with ROV's. Theres also the US navy submarine NR-1 which is a pure research submarine
@MrTrailltrader So in other words, we've got to wait until a few more of the necessary technological breakthroughs are made before we even THINK about building a SEAVIEW... Not much chance of that happening, with the world situation being what it is, and the present days darkening with the threat of a new worldwide war.
No- the tech isn't leading us in that direction. The reason is a ROV's are far cheaper- usually 100,000 dollars or less as compared to a 4.5 billion dollar submarine such as the Virgina class boats.
Theres a few civilian submarines such as the Seattle 1000 which are somewhat similar to the seaview and are the size of World War 2 submarines at 1500 tons.
hello sir, this video is interesting. noise sonar is perfect for seaview. I add this to my template. the sound is produced, how? . is an electronic sound effects. thank you to explain. compliments of Belgium, thierry

The price tag is about 85 million.
