I brought myself here, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I will have to thank myself, in the future, for a splendid evening of music--though if I thank myself in the future, that might create some kind of time paradox. Ah well. I'm sure it'll be fine.
Nice song but i knew i recognised the rhythem from somewhere and i finally got it, they sampled NORRIS MAN- PERSISTANCE!!... which is a classic by the way..LOL seems like every song is sampled these days :D .
@standardclass I haven't had the chance to see them live, but I always get the chills when I play my "Roseland NYC Live" LP I guess is not my time yet... and I hope not to die without see them live. :D
Es su universo, el universo de cada persona... cada persona no es un mundo... es un universo.... Genial cancion! Otra banda mas agregada a mi lista de favoritas bandas!
If anyone with the capability wanted to edit this into a loop so that it plays uninterrupted for much longer, I'd listen to that again and again, and I'm sure a lot of others would too.
@climber910 i agree, and its a grower too, its funny how a lot of people who i know first heard the album didnt like it as much as the first now they think its the best thing they have done to date.
If you like this song you should listen to Sufjan Stevens John Wayne Gacy Jr. because the beat is nearly exactly the same. I can't listen to one without hearing the other in my mind.
I've got the 4 Portishead albums on vynil records ("Dummy", "Portishead", "Roseland NYC Live" & "Third"), and this tune is my favorite from all of them, really luv it!!!
Hey I'm an electronic producer/musician and if anyone has any time I'd be really grateful if you checked out my songs on my channel. Ignore me if you find these types of comments annoying but I'm just looking to share my music a bit. thanks
How I interpret the video; starts out nature, maybe representative of the innocence of early life, nature is taken over by the shallowness of humanity or growing up to know life; we are all free falling to our dooms (not taking over nature, its just the experience of passing through life generally) while we free fall we meet with others, have fleeting relationships, loves we are bound to loose in our tangled criss-cross of passing aimlessly through our existence. In the end its what we make it.
@Raflegan ... The masses are eyeless, the people in hang-gliders sore above the eyeless masses making a better life off of them, they're wearing glasses: they're eyeless too, but it's not as apparent because they use superficial advantage to take advantage of the majority.
As she walks in the room Scented and tall Hesitating once more And as I take on myself And the bitterness I felt I realise that love flows Wild, white horses They will take me away And the tenderness I feel Will send the dark underneath Will I follow? Through the glory of life I will scatter on the floor Disappointed and sore And in my thoughts I have bled For the riddles I've been fed Another lie moves over
I'm a young producer/musician making electronic music. I'm sorry if these comments annoy people (ignore this if it does) but if you've got any time I'd really appreciate it if you would go to my channel and check out my new song "Fake". thanks
Its just an advert on youtube, its not really important. There are people in the world with REAL problems, like starving children, oppressive regimes, if you are arguing over the pros and cons of vevo, then you clearly have way too much time on your hands
I dunno who made this video but I think its great. The watery rhythm and movement complement the song so well as well as the kind of subconscious feel it gives. Also how the images are more abstract and not so literal. Nice job! :)
Hey if you guys like this you should also check out Tangent Transmission! Ive been listening to them ever since I heard them on NCIS:LA and love it. Reminds me of Portishead a bit
first time i watched the film clip.. if i was ever going to kill myself i would do it like this film clip; jump out of a plane, probably for the same reasons expressed in the song
