Well, it's a nice guitar. But who wants to play with Eddie Van Halen's tone? That is his, and he does it his own way. Finding your own is the way to go. Leslie West sounds like himself. Van Halen does. Clapton and Hendrix do and did. Slash does.

I don't want to play a guitar worse than Eddie Van Halen and sound like him, tonewise.

@Ariel62073 This isn't endorsed though. It's not a signature model of an existing guitar, it's a completely original guitar designed by Eddie himself. Just like the Les Paul is an original Gibson guitar designed by Les Paul, this is an original Fender designed by EVH.. an evolution of an existing design he'd been using with Peavey beforehand.

when i use my d tuna with my floyd on full floating it comes out of tune but when i rest the floyd against the body it stays in tune the whole guitar goes slightly sharp

My next guitar. I tested this guitar today at Stepmusic Store (Brazil). OMG, it's amazing. Very very confortable, great tocabily and tone. I recently got an Ibanez JS1200, but i have to say...this EVH is also a very nice guitar.

I have a black one and love this guitar. The only exception I take to this review is that it is a stripped down guitar. While it may not have the maple top and binding of it's parent guitar, this is no way a stripped down guitar in terms of features in the market genereally. You have a quartersawn neck, birdseye maple fretboard, EVH Humbuckers, Floyd Rose trem, Low friction pots and even a fantastic EVH case with the EVH brand design on it. I think that's a lot of features personally.

The Floyd Rose. Tuning and re-stringing is a pain in the ass with a Floyd on your guitar.

@92796Apollo The floyd is resting against the body, so only dive bombing is possible, if you break a string then you stay in tune and re stringing would be very easy, as the tremolo stays on the body. ( Eddies design )

it feels excellent, I don't know where to start. The unfinished neck has that smooth, Music-man like neck that feels like you been playing it for a while. The frets are beautiful and are so shiny, they also sanded the edge of the frets just right so it resist you from cutting you hand. I have the tabaco burst finish which cost about $30 more. But it was well worth it. The only thing I don't like about the guitar is that changing the strings are a pain, and it had no manual.

@deegan45 usually the EVH signature USA guitar is made similar to a les paul in that it has a carved top. whereas the wolfgang special is not only made in japan but is also flat...think of a les paul's body (carved)compared to a strat body (flat). hope this helps.

Just like the EVH Wolfgang Special is from Japan and the EVH Wolfgang is from USA. There is no difference, they're all the same, brand doesn't matter....as long as they have the same as USA.
