Hi RTL. I just rented Tillman Story a couple of weeks ago. Loved it. I went to the Diamondbacks game last night, it was Reunion night of the WS 2001 Champions. They had nice 9/11 ceremonies tied in throughout the program and the game. Very nice, lots of warm fuzzies. Read the book, "Where Men Win Glory" by John Krakauer. It's Pat's biography and an extremely in depth synopsis of everything that went on. It's very interesting, it really made me respect him even more after reading his biography.

I just finished John krakauer's book on Pat Tillman but being from Ireland I had never heard of Pat Tillman so I read it as a fan of the author rather than Tillman, but I found him an inspiration .

His decision to serve alongside his brother was made out of respect for all soldiers who've fought and died for their country. Hi RTL. I just rented Tillman Story a couple of weeks ago. Loved it. I went to the Diamondbacks game last night, it was Reunion night of the WS 2001 Champions. They had nice 9/11 ceremonies tied in throughout the program and the game. Very nice, lots of warm fuzzies. I'm sure the Cards will do something nice before the game, or maybe half-time to commemorate the occasion. RIP, Pat. We will never forget!!

Read the book, "Where Men Win Glory" by John Krakauer. It's Pat's biography and an extremely in depth synopsis of everything that went on. It's very interesting, it really made me respect him even more after reading his biography.

Not even the cover up of his murder can take away from Tillman's legacy. While those fat ass, blue blooded, bottom feeding cowards who orchestrated this cover up received college deferments and namby pamby National Guard positions to avoid serving in Vietnam, Pat went straight to the front line.Tillman is an American hero. His memory will last forever. R.I.P. Ranger.

He is different because he died from friendly fire, & the military & government tried to cover it up, saying he died leading his men up a hill to combat. The cover-up reached the highest levels of the military &
govt. If it wasn't for his family, especially his mother, spending years trying to get to the truth, the truth wouldn't have come out. And all of the truth still hasn't come out, 7 years later. They probably murdered him to shut him up.

There are probably more cases like his than we know of - soldiers dying from friendly fire & the govt & military trying to cover it up & getting away with it. I bet it's happened hundreds of times. Difference here is that they - the govt & military - got caught. And the cover-up reached the highest levels of the govt & military. He was a celebrity & that's why his case got so much attention.

Should he have got so much attention because he was a celebrity? No. And he wouldn't have wanted the attention. ALL deaths of soldiers the military claims died from friendly fire should be investigated like his case was. But obviously they can't. His celebrity brought his case to the forefront. But he is no more or less heroic than other soldiers who have died for their country. There is also a good chance that he may have been killed purposely for his beliefs. Again making his case different.

@ApocalypsePlough 7.62x39, 5.45x39, 5.56x45 is the ammo used by Ak47. All autopsy's revealed .223 calibur ammo, with the initial hits coming from behind at some 60 - 70 yards. More astounding were the 3 shots fired from a yard away, drawn in a line between his eyes, and the "special units" assigned the same day, and none of them wore tags or badges. He was killed because he knew the truth, and it was written in his letters, when he wrote back stating they were only gaurding opium fields.

Are you that lazy or such a busy guy that you can't do a few Internet searches? There is tons of information on the Internet about what happened to him. There are many YouTube videos. Do you not realize, for f**k sake, that the government investigated his death? There were Senate hearings. They're on YouTube. Watch them.

As far as being an anti-war extremist, I am not anti-war, if the cause is just . My dad fought in WW2. WW2 was a just war. I think soldiers are heroic. The soldier has no say where he goes, so we can not condemn him for the war he fights. You call me a liar & an anti-war extremist because you cannot believe your govt could do such evil deeds. They did the exact same thing with Jessica Lynch. Read about her. If you do not believe your govt is capable of evil, you are a very naive man, indeed.

@knkcarney Then again Pat totally thought the war in Iraq was illegal, and was in the process of publicly coming out against it. Considering how the military was using him in particular as their poster boy, and how the military does have a history of murdering problem people, I can definitely see them shooting him in the head when they had the chance.
Besides, if our government was willing to send countless soldiers to die based on a lie, there's not alot to stop them from killing one guy.

@Andreaslillfreakact - Yes. He was an American, and he was killed by friendly fire - his fellow American soldiers killed him. That is an established truth. Whether he was killed accidentally or deliberately, that is the question. I believe it was deliberate, but that's just my opinion.
