Shiba Inu Puppy, Saint Paul, Minnesota

Did you get those two shibas together? We have our beautiful shiba and she's almost two years old. We were thinking about getting another shiba puppy but we don't know how they would interact...

@flipgrl620 Yes, they were both pups when we got them (different litters). Their temperaments work perfectly together, so I'm very lucky there. I've owned a female shiba years back and when we tried to introduce another dog she became even more territorial than the typical shiba should be. She started to be aggressive not only towards the other dog, but more aggressive at the dog parks too. We gave it time, but she just go worse and we knew we had to be a 1-dog family.

@flipgrl620 I'd say you never know, each dog can be it's own story. I have been told that females get a little bit more bossy, but don't quote me on that. My friends that do own multiple shibas only have males, so I don't have much reference on females (if there is a difference). I do know that there a plenty of success stories in your situation. I'd say give it a try, let them work out their inevitable differences and good luck!

Cute dogs, i wanted a black and tan so bad! my dogs dad was black and tan, and his mom was red, but hes a dark red, with a little bit of dark brown / black around his nose and on his back

Anoka? You wouldn't happen to have been at the Anoka Halloween Parade with Rocco dressed as a Lobster? My husband was in that parade and snapped me a photo of a Shiba from Anoka.

That would be a coincidence!

Anyhow, my Shibas are so much fun I recommend 2 for everyone :-). No, they're not shedding now, but I'm sure it'll be soon.

I love your shiba inus.... Im in Anoka and have had my red shiba Rocco for just over 8 years. Ive had several different breeds that Ive trained over the years, but I am head over heels for this one. I'd love to get another one some day; maybe a black and tan. Is your's shedding right now like mine is????

I'm in Moorhead, and got my Shiba (Black and Tan) from K9... it has the same bday as your Mikko!!! Possibly siblings?

Mikko (my black & tan) is from Marilyn Banke in Winthrop, MN. There's a group on Yahoo Groups called Northern Lights Shiba Inu and I've met siblings to my dogs through them.

You should post a picture of your dog - I'd love to see it!
