I did fix that problem though...By purchasing a Logitech Pro 9000. I however do like your Altec Lansing speakers though, They are the best.

Actually you don't. They may need to HOW to work it but it almost always works. And the "why pay more?" reasoning is stupid. Number one the camera is included in all mac except a mac pro, and number two prices are relative to quality. any product of equal quality to an apple products is also more expensive. Just so happens most people buy cheap crap. Hyundai cost less than Mercedes...why is that? Are they equal? NO. But a BMW is closer in quality so guess what? Its cost more than hyundai too.

I just brought that camera yesterday and when i installed it everything went good until i clicked on the icon on my desktop and it keeps on saying "initialization error"
ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling about 10 times. i used revo uninstaller.
I have the microsoft vx 3000 web cam ... I am using it with IM but my mic isn't functioning properly ... there is a lot of background noise ... like some kind of interference and the voice sound is low ... barely audible with the background noise.
So I'm wondering am I missing some thing or is the mic defective? I have IM 10 installed. I checked the driver for the cam and it is up to date. Does anyone have a solution for this problem or is the cam defective?

It doesn`t suck! I`m using it for about two years now .. and i`m really satisfied with it. It`s ok for an webcam... nice video quality , cristal audio clarity ( at least for me) and the great stuff is that depending on the light in the room , colors it tracks .. it can give you 30 fps at maximum.

There a focus ring on it. Simply turn it until you get decent video quality. It's around the lens.

A 9 minute demo for a web cam? You have to be kidding. You must love the sound of your voice. I just want to see the picture quality and not hear someone drone on. I'm off to a shorter demo.

it's a really good webcam i have it 2. you really have to buy it! it has a buildin microphone a lifecall button and it has special effects its freaking awesome!

It doesn`t suck! I`m using it for about two years now .. and i`m really satisfied with it. It`s ok for an webcam... nice video quality , cristal audio clarity ( at least for me) and the great stuff is that depending on the light in the room , colors it tracks .. it can give you 30 fps at maximum.
Buy it ..you won`t regret it!

Its good for a webcam but super gay for microphone

Thank you, I was just looking for a review like this.
My webcam right now has just terrible video quality urgh over msn I look like some kind of blob monster. However when I use my webcam in programms were I can preview myself it looks really good.
But I think I'm just gonna go ahead and trust your 8.5 :P.

the ringing goes away if you lower the microphone volume in the task bar, at least for me there's no ring
