This is a clever cartoon, but inaccurate.

They basically told Leno he'd be leaving. He didn't say "I wanna host a show at 10 instead!"

@poops1: it took leno FIVE yrs to get to #1, while having the best lineup. conan had about 7 mo.s w/ jay's sucky new show as his lineup.

the only way jay beat letterman was to have on hugh grant after his sunset blvd hooker scandal. up to that point, his unenthusiastic comedy routines & lackluster interviewing skills couldnt keep the audience even w/ good nbc shows ahead of him

leno had the lineup, letterman didnt. that's the only difference. leno wasnt funnier & he wasnt a better interviewer. he sucks as an interviewer - he doesnt listen, he just reads the cue cards. u see a prime example of that when kimmel went off at him at leno's sucky 10pm show.

why couldnt leno make his 10@10 show #1? why was it cancelled? cuz all of his weaknesses showed. only the heritage of the TS saved that show, not leno
