I heard the tournament director, Ryu, and Sagat staged the exciting final match in the first tournament so that the 2nd tournament would be so much bigger. It worked.
The last time I fought him, the funniest thing happened. I squeaked out the first win with hadokens, he trashed me the second round, and then for round three: Sagat knocked me down to a sliver of health, I accidentally pulled off a shoryuken, and since all three hits landed, it took him out. I REENACTED THE OFFICIAL STORY AND GAVE HIM HIS SCAR.
@ridureyu Well you didnt exactly reenacted it. XD Sagat beat Ryu first and then tried to help him get up made him put his guard down. Then Satsui no Hadou Ryu Metsu Shoryuken'ed him giving the scar and knocking him out. x.x Poor Sagat. Sorry if I rained on your parade.."^^
You must be referring to the retconned version of events.
Originally, there was absolutely no mention of Satsui no Hadou or Sagat winning and then lending Ryu a hand. The explanation was brief. Ryu won with the Shoryuken, in the process giving Sagat the scar on his chest.
Capcom came up with all this other nonsensical crap at least a decade later.
What happened first (i.e. what was created) is official. Retcons are laughable.
What strength! But Ryu forget there were many guys like him all over the world

The other person should have movement while the final projectile is on screen in slow mo.

Actually, when both players get hit by projectiles like that, the second projectile won't do any damage anymore, once it's a KO.
