Lord Krishna and Duryodhana were of later generation than Drupad which also showed the liberal trend changes. But I dont think that Drupad really insulted the Brahmin Drona. He just told him that he can ask for anything except on the right of friendship (when they were kids). Drona do not get any right (adhikaar) to impose it on Drupad, he should be knowing that too.

Of all the messages we learn from Mahabharat, one of the greatest is that a person who himself is unrighteous, if he is terminated by means of unrighteousness to sustain righteousness, then it isn't a sin at all. Lord Krishna is the transcendent reality, he is the soul of the Universe. He could've obliterated any enemy by his whim. All three had ability to use Brahmastra but Karna had the curse that he would forget it's use when he needed it most. There were no. of times when Krishna was not there yet Karna was beaten by Arjuna.

@thakur1006 This show of course has been superbly scripted with great dialogues but there have been times when some part of a serious dialogue has evoked laughter. Mostly it was just for one line & that too when the character is either angry or frustrated. I am sure that was intentional. Kudos to the producers!

In addition , it it never happened then Krishna never advised Pandu's team to attack yalamber and neither they would have the oppurtunity to watch the kurukshetra war or take sides with the kauravas. so it looks like there is a lot of myths floating around in nepal abt this.

@007dalal I agree those friendships were great...but not everyone think same way. Also caste system was very complex those times. Lord Krishna and Duryodhana were of later generation than Drupad which also showed the liberal trend changes. But I dont think that Drupad really insulted the Brahmin Drona. He just told him that he can ask for anything except on the right of friendship (when they were kids). Drona do not get any right (adhikaar) to impose it on Drupad, he should be knowing that too.

Means it depends upon King whether he wants to offer cow or not.And it was not like he didnt want to give the cow but becoz Drona refused to take it as Daan...Why? Of all the messages we learn from Mahabharat, one of the greatest is that a person who himself is unrighteous, if he is terminated by means of unrighteousness to sustain righteousness, then it isn't a sin at all. Lord Krishna is the transcendent reality, he is the soul of the Universe. He could've obliterated any enemy by his whim. @bhasinuscuscable Corrections: All three were guru bhais - Lord Parashurama was their Guru. All three had ability to use Brahmastra but Karna had the curse that he would forget it's use when he needed it most. Karna didn't have the ability of self determination of his own death, the other two (Bhisma, Drona) had it. It would be wrong to put Arjuna as 4th powerful warrior - no Arjuna, no Mahabharat. There were no. of times when Krishna was not there yet Karna was beaten by Arjuna.

However, being straightforward is a disadvantage in a war against serial cheaters, so it could be argued that if pandavas wanted to save the kingdom from being ruled by unjust people, they had to use means that suited their cheating opponents, of wich drona was a part, even if not a cheater

As a child, I did hear stories of someone like Ashwatthama being sighted somewhere in what is now Haryana. I used to hear about it from my family members. But I don't know how much is true, or what it is.

Since youtube does not allow tv show and movies, go to (stream episodes (DOT) net) to watch them instead rajshri. That is what I depend on to be able to watch American Idol and all the latest tv shows.

TheRingil, to understand the logic behind Krishna's every action and word, you need to have brain, and u sure don't have it. Even if for a moment, I concede that your pseudo intellectual bull-shit has some merit(which is of course not the case) , u could still have differed with the Lord and argued ur case in a better way. But you must not have used such unparliamentary language for Him. Who gave you the right to abuse in such words the Lord and thereby insult billions who worship Him?

@thakur1006 This show of course has been superbly scripted with great dialogues but there have been times when some part of a serious dialogue has evoked laughter. Mostly it was just for one line & that too when the character is either angry or frustrated. I am sure that was intentional. Kudos to the producers!

Philosophy is exactly the reason why I made the comment about Krishna. The fact that Krishna is a God doesn't absolve him of any responsibility or his cowardly tactics and machinations during the war.
