Start / Run... type: services.msc then OK

Check this 3 services (it's A MUST if you want to detect your device - PS3).

SSDP Discovery Service <<<<< Start this one first Make and make it Automatic (right click properties).

Universal Plug and Play Device Host << then this one same as one above

Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service <<< then this one...

if you get any errors like 1068 -79.. etc simple google errors and you will find easy solution.

Both your laptop and ur ps3 MUST BE CONNECTED TO THE SAME NETWORK

So simply have both ur laptop and ur ps3 CONNECTED TO UR HOME NETWORK (Wireless or with Ethernet Cable)

If u dont have wireless i RECOMMEND downloading "Connectify" (GOOGLE IT)

Its free, simply create a hotspot , have both ur laptop and ps3 connected and START the Media Streaming. REMEMBER TO FIRST DO WHAT I HAVE SAID BEFORE! Services.msc

@abcman your files should be displayed in the folder you choose your files to be displayed in, through the "sharing folders" section of the mediaserver options

Lags big time. Whats the point if you need to hard wire. My ps3 is 50ft away from my computer so this program is garbage for HD movies.

@donnyrossco I had this problem. Use TVersity. It doesn't lag but you'll need to use a Ethernet cable for HD movies if you want it not to lag. Everything else, you can use wireless, just not HD

I havent tried this yet but i did try it with Windows Media Player and it was pretty laggy with most scenes where there was a lot of movement or whatever.. i'll be taking a look at this soon. Thanks for posting HD Nation!

I've tried Windows Media Player with my Playstation 3 and it worked just fine at first but then I started getting error DLNA 2006 and DLNA 720 on Playstation 3 .. I'll try the Playstation 3 Download to see if it works for me now. Twonky Meida Server works OK as well but you have to pay.
