  • Very well said. Donny is a class act.

  • THE OSMONDS SUCK THEY THINK THEY ARE BETTER THEN THE JACKSONS YEAH RIGHT ANYONE KNOWS THE TRUTH AND THEY KNOW REAL TALENT

  • If you really were a friend why didn't you say to help "Get Help you have a problem", so called friends never seem to help until its too late strange that?

  • @Brighteyes1ful dont be so ignorant even if he did the decision is up to michael and he went to the wrong person for help

  • everyone always talk like u guys in competition with each other, its good to know that u guys talked to one another . i'm sure there was a little maybe, but thanks for sharing your stories about him and u. I'm a fan of both of you, i have yours and michael's old 45's and hope see u back in on the stage again

  • Donny Osmond, that was a very nice memory of Michael Jackson. Thanks.

  • Im a huuuugee MJ fan...but Im also a huugge DO ;) fan. Im so impressed that u have taken time out to talk about MJ and let us see u without all the cameras and interviewers...it really shows us that u r real. I have been reading so much about MJ..and the comments I get from people are usually negative. I believe that if u r in the spotlight, u really should take time out and show us who u really r...just so people can bite their tongues. Unfortunately the media have a very strong influence xx

  • Donny, why don't you record that "I Wish"with Stevie & maybe Jermaine or Janet? I'm sure Michael will get a kick out of it if he hears it 'somewhere out there'!

  • When I saw this,, I thought,, "Now that's a Whoa".

I remember you saying that meeting you when you lived in W L A, '75, LOL....

Thank you, and your Father and The Clan for being so gracious to us fans.

  • AWWW, wow, you were going to get together. And you sing 'Wish' at your show. :-)

I wish he could have went to your place.

Yes, he left us sooo much.

I still cry if I hear 'I'll Be There', Memories of 6th grade.

He and you grew up with me, my generation.

  • Thank you Donny for those memories..It has been almost three years and i miss him everyday still. Sometimes with a smile but always with a tear Just like you said I am thankful I grew up watching him and seeing his love. He is not just the king of Pop to me but the King of song and dance. Thanks

  • Thank you for sharing how you feel about Michael, i enjoyed very much, i can tell you cared about him very much. One question are you the one, to do his temple work? Will his family allow you to do it. Don`t know if i am off bass here, asking this, but i was prompted to do so. Forgive me if i am.

  • Ah, Donny, you and Michael are two of my very favorite singers. I was privileged to get to see you in SLC in Joseph. You were having anxiety attacks at the time and weren't able to go on some nights, so it was really special to be there when you were able to perform. "Any Dream Will Do" will remain one of my all time favorite songs. What a talent you have........the best of all the Josephs. Michael was lucky to have you as a friend. Thank you for this video.

  • Donny, you're a talented artist AND most importantly, a caring man.

    Thank you for sharing.

  • Theae posts need to be reviewed, so several can be deleted for 'raunchiness' ... that's putting it lightly.

  • Bless your heart, Donnie.

From one musician to another, the same age.

  • awwww how sweet is this omg

  • "We miss him and the legacy lives on." Those words are so true, and the kids a generation from now will not know how legendary he was and how the music he made impacts the music of their day as well as ours. I feel so sorry for them already!

  • @kriggans1 me too. my baby brova was born a yr b4 mj passed and as i look at him now i shake my head bcuz ikno he will never such legend. we miss you mike!!! <3

  • ARE YOU "THE DONNY OSMOND

  • the youtube video where you and michael and the little two kids give the award to the Carpenters brought me here and I thank you and it is true what you say: we are lucky to have lived during his lifetime. Yes, it is absolutely True. Thank you

  • THANK YOU DONNY OSMOND FOR BEING THERE FOR MICHAEL JACKSON AND OFFERING YOUR HOME AS A RETREAT FOR HIS FAMILY. YOU HAVE A BIG HEART!!! GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS! "ALOHA FROM HAWAII" - ENTERTAINER GREG GABAYLO

  • Donny, well said. I didn't know this video existed but as a fan of both you and Michael, I too am grateful I lived at a time to experience Michael producing music and changing lives. You spoke right, Donny; we will see Michael again.

  • Thank you Donny. I've always said that too, that I Thank God I lived when Michael was here too. He is still so missed, but we will see him again someday.

  • Wow! I know I am super late, but thank you Donny for sharing this. Michael's legacy will live on forever.

  • Racism is the stupid! If us Humans can get over this assinine color and racial divide we can really live on this planet more happy enjoying one another, making sure everbodies children are fed and looking out for the betterment of the planet. Instead we hate each other because of color which is something none of us can choose on our own because that decision was left up to our creator so to hate someone because of they're color is really stupid.

  • In the entertainment industry the true stars like Michael get chewed up and spit out by everyone and can trust very few people in the industry. The worst were his own family. Had Michael gone to Donny's, I do believe he would be here today. Mike reached out to probably one of the very few people that ever offered him unconditional friendship.

  • Anyway I just wanted to know if you remember Michael telling you that or was it something he made up. (He did so upon occasion and never for any reason I could ever understand. The truth would have been as interesting I always found out later). I know he respected your talents and he told me you were a really great piano player. I told him I agreed as you blew a show away I saw you on playing a honky tonk piano and you were probably 19 or 20 yrs old.

  • Hey Donny. My name is Barney Van Valin. I spent alot of time with Michael in the Santa Ynez Valley. I asked him about you once. In the course of the conversation he said you had asked how to get your music back on track. Michael said he told you to get yourself arrsted. You asked him why and he said, "Because you need some edge and that'll do it." I hope that's accurate. I put it in a book about the time we spent together over 5 yrs called 'Conversations in Neverland with Michael Jackson.'

  • wonderful!

  • Hello Donny, I don't know if you remember me, but I met you in Tyler Tx. at a Dairy Queen. My friend and I walked in and you were standing at the counter. I didn't pay you any mind, but I was standing right next to you. I guess it's what you were wearing that threw me off. You just looked like a normal guy, standing there with cut off jeans on and a t-shirt. It wan't until I ordered a lemonade that I heard you say, "change mine to a lemonade too". I knew then and OMG! Do you remember?

  • i love you donny your so awesome my mom used to love you when you were younger

  • Donny, your the best ! Thank you for sharing your memories of Michael Jackson.

  • thank you for sharing your wonderful stories i really appreciate it soo much

  • Thanks for your words.

  • Thanks for sharing your memories of MJ with us. It's helps to know that he had good people like you in his corner.

  • I never listened to Jackson's music, nor did I ever pay any attention to his career, so I don't miss him at all. Truth to tell, I wasn't really much aware of him, in the first place. Everyone has different personal preferences.

  • @JeffersonDinedAlone Why would you share that? This is about remembering Michael...

  • Donny you stated that you "know you are going to see him again someday". I am not LDS but I know enough to know that it has to be one of two things. 1. He will be in the Celestial Kingdom or 2 Celestial Kingdom and Terrestial Kingdom will be able to interact and, finally, you don't believe he will be in outer darkness because of his problems. That is huge and a great hope for his fans. Please comment if you feel you can....Thanks. BTW I was in love with you in 1972 at age 12 :)

  • "We lived in the same time as Michael jackson"

I said that verbatim on the eve' of his death. OMG....

: ( this video got real sad towards the end.

  • Comment removed

  • Donny is such a sweet decent guy you just don't see around much these days...love you Donny! xx

  • Also...Mr.Osmond...you can really really sing...of course you know that, but on this video when you threw down acapella and sang that verse there...you sounded as good as Stevie Wonder and I could hear you really doing one of his songs. You should do a cd of today's hits by artist of the New Millinium. I think it would be a hit. Do some music and collaberate with some of the hip-hop artist...and rock it like you did here and rock the charts once again today! I like your voice and I would buy it!

  • Mr. Osmond I came around a little later than your hay day with Michael Jackson, but I really enjoy watching these youtube videos of you two back in the day (those suits are rocking. Lol). It was an honor listening to you in this sharing. I teared up. How lucky both U & Michael were to have a friendship as two teen stars, and on into adulthood. Michael should have kept you close over the years. I think you would have had a really good influence, and maybe Michael would have had a different end.

  • Yes Donny I love you both you have inspired me musically as much as Michael has. I know Michael was murdered, I really appreciate you. Just wanted to say thank you for your kind word. Please say this blessing, Jesus is lord, and I believe Jesus died on the cross for my sins, and arose from the dead, fill me with The Holy Spirit please say this everlasting blessing. You and your sister are sweet hearts, I love your music. I went to neverland when I was 12 and had a great time.

  • YES DONNY! I didn't know you were so clever until now. What a smart man! I love your music, now I love you! By the way, no dislikes on this clip.!.!. :)

  • Its Donny. What a nice bit about Michael Jackson. Music Industry. It can burn you out. The show must go on. With out Michael. So get Going Donny. Get out there and pick up the Slack. Vegas is Calling.

  • Thanks for your wonderful comments...love both you and Michael!

  • I am sure Donny cried a lot of tears for Michael. Why didn't he show up for the funeral?

  • Why don't you all just eat each other's assholes already. Osmond is so phony but he's good at it. I wonder how long before the camera gets turned off and he busts out laughing. Ask that Mormon cunt how close he would have allowed Jacko to his young sons!! HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM??????

  • Donny, thank you so much for the kind words you said about Michael. :)

  • Your memories help to show that you and Michael were real and ordinary people only with exceptional lives. It's too bad you two never got to do your song. I am sure it would have been amazing for both of you. You are a real gentleman(except when you dunked the Marie doll in the cup of water on the morning show. That was bad, bad, bad) ! I will continue to follow you and Marie with fondness

    Brenda

  • continued...I know your childhoods were less than they should have been and I am touched to hear that you two played behind stage.Thank yo for showing Michael as a real person. I never knew you were that close to Michael back in 1970's After all. I thought you were kind of rivals.

  • Well Donny, I was at that concert at the CNE in 1974 as I was at all your concerts there with your brothers. I was and still am one of your biggest fans. My husband was a little jealous until your recent concert in Toronto when Marie kissed him on the forhead (yes he's bald) Now I am jealous...you never came over to my side of the theatre.

  • Thankyou so much Donny for sharing your memories of Michael We all love him and I alway's loved you too. and to know that he had a good friend like you just makes me smile. God Bless you alway's~ And if you have any more stories about him please share them We'd love to hear them. With Love alway's ~ Diane

  • Thank you, Donny for sharing those special memories.

  • Ok, he says he talked to Michael a year or so before he passed away...that he visitied him at Neverland?! Michael hadn't been in Neverland in 4 years! Not to mention how old that song...by Stevie Wonder is. Confused?

  • @curlylittlegirl Confused...no. As you get older, the mind often works more like that. I can't believe my oldest is 21, seems only a few years ago. And it didn't seem like 4 years had gone by since Michael's acquittal, bless him, it sure flew. Oh that song would have been a fun new rendition, wish I could have heard it.

  • Thanks Donny for ever young

  • Thank you, Donny. You're the greatest. RIP Michael Jackson

  • love you Donny ,you are the best.

  • Wow, thank you Donny. I'm in tears (again). Hearing Michael's peers speak of him and their memories and how much everyone loved MJ ... just makes me cry. If only we could have saved him. I've gotta stop now, can't even see the keyboard to type through the tears.

  • i wish michael came to your house

  • I believe that both of you (Donny and Michael) are special mesangers from God, and were sent hear specially to help humanity along.

  • Thank U Donny. With LOVE:-)

  • Thanks Donny I loved you growing up as much as Michael, that was really sweet and yes we will miss him forever. If only he came and stayed with you maybe he would have been safe and here today.. :( :(...

God bless you and your family xxxxxoooo

  • Why can't there be more people like Donny in this world?? Michael was a great man, even if he did screw himself up, he was a kind and caring man, Donny says that right here in this interview. It shows what great friends they were.

  • Thank you Donny - you say that Michael will be remembered as a legend and that his legacy will live on but there is a lot of hard work to do to ensure that this is the case. Thank you so much for helping to put the record straight about him and to show his very human and fun side. Keep up the good work, we know its not easy to push against the reputation that the media has given the public of Michael but bit by bit we will put this runaway train back on the track. Thank you.

  • Thanks for sharing, these are wonderful memories. :) And I love that little snippet of the song you sang! It would've been amazing to hear you and MJ duet, singing about the good ol' days. . . .

  • Thanks Mr. Osmond. Well stated and it helped the grieving process. Loved you and michael when I was growing up.

  • God bless you Donny. You are leaving a legacy of your own too! :)

  • Thank you Donny for remembering Michael so well.

  • Thanks Donny for sharing these words about Michael Jackson. Yes, I was fortunate to live in his time, but never got a chance to see him perform live. He & his family, like you and your family are wonderful gifts to the world. Peace -

  • Spoken like a true gentleman & friend. Thank you so much, Donny...

  • and i looove Stevie Wonder! :)

  • I miss him so much...

  • You are truly blessed to have really known who the person was, not just the singer/performer (have to be a bit selfish here ... I feel blessed to have grown up with his music)

  • i have so much respect for this guy now! those were great memories about him and michael

  • It would be great if you still did the song with Mike the same way that Natalie did with her father (who had passed) "Unforgetable"

I think it would be a great tribute

  • Donny - hearing you speak from your heart brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for your kindness, your care, and your compassion. But most of all, thank you for being a true friend to Michael. May God bless and keep you safe always. Blessings.

  • Donny - I've always had a high regard for you. And after hearing you speak from your heart I love and respect you all the more. Thank you for being such a warn, kind, and caring individual. And, thank you for being a true friend to Michael. Thank you for sharing this with us. God bless you and keep you safe always.

  • We have lost a genious there will only be one king of pop and thats michael jackson Michael Jackson is the best there ever is one this earth to ever step foot on this earth michael was the greatest humantitaran on this earth He will be the one and only michael jackosn forever he will love in my heart i miss him so much

  • this is stuff you couldn't make up

    wonderful memories.

    jctoronto

  • Thank you so much Donny for your heartfelt words. You were one of my favorite singers growing up along with Michael. Michael needed friends like you in his life and I am so glad that you letting people know that he was a human being who had feelings. This world wore him out, but he fought a good fight. I miss him so much. Please keep letting people know that Michael was love and he was loved by many. I miss you so much my dear Michael.♥ RIP.

  • Thankyou so so much Donny,it's so nice to hear happy stories of Michael,if you have any more i'm all ears lol. Love you too you seem to be a genuine person when i see you on tv.................ha ha you and Fiona Phillips

  • aaww, poor Donny I am only 15 and love them both but I never really knew how much they knew each other

  • I literally just finished watching the awards you and Mike were in.

I still can't believe a man of his title passed, so the words you state in this video are meaningful and heartfelt. And whether you realise it, this video is a contribute from his friends to his legacy also.

  • This was conversation really truely from donny's heart it seems that is only a side seen by his close family. Thanks for sharing it with your followers. From the simple days of manning and 1648 curbs place you to sir are a legend.

  • Thank you so much Donny for being a true friend and giving respect to Michael. You've so much wonderful memories of him. It's so sad the your duet with him didn't materialized. It could have been a hit from the two King of Music you know! God bless you Donny and more power to you!

  • Aww yeahhh, eating Jack in the Box tacos. Hehe.

Thank you for the stories. =]

  • I was 20 something years old when I watched Michael Jackson onstage, in Manila, with his brothers, minus Jermaine. I was on the 5th row, center, from the stage. I'll never ever forget that night. Thank you, Donny, for sharing your wonderful memories of Michael.

  • Hear hear - thank you Donny for sharing your wonderful memories and I'm so glad you got to play and have fun when you were younger. Thank you for those wonderful words - yes his legacy will live on and so will all the love and compassion that he shared with the world and specifically with all of his Soldiers of L.O.V.E who have made that change and who are trying to heal this world.

  • Because I am a foreigner, I am happy to discover that there were good people as well, also from showbiz, around MJ. A friendship, trust and mutual sympathy! Thanks.

  • Thank you for posting this! Donny you have a great heart!!! :)

  • His timeline is messed up. From his accounts he last spoke with him in 2003 not one or so years ago.

  • Both the Jackson Family and the Osmond Family have been friends for so many years. Both Donny and Michael where in the music industry at the same time. They both have remained friends. To say Jackson vs. Osmond is wrong since both made their mark in the music industry in their own style. Yes Michael did succeed beyond his wildest dream but they remained friends. To see fans do the Jackson vs. Osmond is just plain wrong. Infact, MJ was thinking of reuniting the families together.

  • Heartbreaking. God bless you, Donny, for being a friend to Michael. He'd been through so much. So much. I wish he could have come to Oklahoma. He would have been anonymous here.

  • Thank you, Mr.Donny Osmond

  • Thank you Donny!

  • i don't get this, he said the last time he talked to him was about a year or so b4 he passed away, but he said michael was hiding during the allegations which were in 2005, and he said at that moment, that was the last time he talked to him, so the last time he talked to him was in 2005, it wasn't a year before his death.......someone is making stuff up

  • @arthurtats Just because he may have remembered the date wrong doesn't mean he's making it up. Lots of people have trouble remembering perfectly the exact time some things occured (and as busy as Donny's life has been??!...), that doesn't mean those things didn't happen or that anybody is making anything up. I'm glad that Donny was a friend to Michael. Donny's a good guy. I knew there was some reason why I've been besotted with him all these years....

  • I wish they could have done that record together. I bet it would have sounded absolutely fantastic!

  • @Cheryl1166 your probably right, i do appreciate that he was a nice guy to Michael because i can't stand when people make fun of Michael..........i like the video of them two in the first VMA's in the 70's......nice to see that he was always on his side

  • @arthurtats I loved that appearance they did together, I remember seeing it on TV when it aired! Yes, I think Michael could have used a few more friends like Donny. It seems like the media were always out to get him for some reason, and I doubt if in reality he was half as strange as people tried to make him out to be. I think that many of his ideas and intentions were completely misunderstood by people who didn't actually know him privately. I don't believe every stupid thing in print.

  • @Cheryl1166 me either, he was probably the most misunderstood person on this planet, all he did was bring us the most beautiful, and most meaningful music that was ever written, and all he wanted to do was help out children with life-threatning diseases, because he wasn't a child himself, i can't believe people still think that he bleached his skin and that he molested children........ those people are the ones who destroyed his life, thank you so much for defending him

  • @arthurtats i was thinking the same and do you remember donny defending mj in public?

  • @TheMjgirl1 Yes, I do. One time on the D&M talk show he was asked a question about the "dirt" and Donny refuse to go there and stated that this was a friend of his, ect.....A friend when it wasn't cool to be one.

  • How incredibly nice of Donny Osmond to do this. It's as if Michael died yesterday for me. I'm hoping that he'll always be a part of my life and my memories. And, yes Donny, how truly lucky we were to have seen him work and perform. There will never be another one like him. Ever. And I'm not sure a word has been invented yet that fully describes his impact.

  • Wow, this is a really nice interview. Donny is an amazing man, I just love him. He is a beautiful person to speak about Michael in such respectful ways, telling the truth, saying it like it is. Thank you Donnyosmond for this. With Love and respect.

  • Thank you, Donny. God bless you.

  • God bless you Donny for taking the time to share your sweet memories and for being a good friend to Michael _ Love you, Qbee

  • Thank you Donny ♥

  • What a wonderful tribute... thanx Donny! And thanx also, Michael!

  • That's so sweet. A true friend to Michael - how rare is that? Thanks for posting.

  • Thank you so much for this wonderful insight to Michael and Donnie. I didn't know that they were friends.

  • wow, this was really touching and heartfelt. you're what a true friend is. it was kinda sad how that was the last time you talked to him but you made an effort to reach out to him and that's nice.

  • Thank you, Donny. Thanks for reaching out to him and letting him know he was cared for. That meant so much. We all miss him incredibly. All we can do is channel that into keeping his legacy going. <3

  • I'm 14 years old n I really 100% agree with donny I've seen the video where he talks about ama I love that video its so sweet n aswell funny love the both!!!!. RIP michael jackson "the king of pop"

  • I love you so much :) Michael was wonderful.

  • Thank you for sharing your memories of Michael. You and MJ would have been great together!

  • Donny Osmond once asked Michael Jackson for advice due to his decline in career in the 1980s. This is what Michael Jackson said to Donny, "First you have to change your name and don't let anyone know that you were every Donny Osmond."

  • does Donny Osmond live in Salt Lake City? Provo? Ogden? Anyway, don't ever buy a sony. buy a LG, Samsung, Acer, HTC. Support America's automobile industry such as GM, Ford and Chrysler. Only buy fuel efficient vehicles! do not buy gaz guzzling cars. Also, recycle all your garbage. Heal the World and help rebuild America's economy.

  • Donny, let's revamp the Umbrella Song and get it out there again. Everytime I say I love the Umbrella Song, everyone says "I Love Rhianna!" And I say, "NO!! Donny and Marie!" and they look at me like I'm nuts. I'd love to hear a new version of it. Just a thought.....................Have a Happy Day.

  • You look so much like Alan here!

  • So glad this is uploaded... I had to work and didn't get to get in on the live chat!

  • Hey Donny! I'm Steph who you said was cute! It totally made my day!! I'm 14 now, but thanks for answering my question! If you can-inbox me or something! :D

  • @steffilynnvids Steph you're 14!!? I always thought you were older lolz

  • @TheOpalrain yupp im 14 :D but im known to be an old soul...kinda :p

  • @steffilynnvids Me too, I'm 16 and I'm always told I have a old soul lol because my love for older music Dean Martin,Peggy Lee....etc And because I love Donny haha <3 lol *sigh* Donny rocks =)

  • I'm LDS, too...He had a good friend in you and I wish he would've made it up to Utah. I hate "What If's" but.....I can't help but wonder, "What If"....If you could have had a little more influence......The world got ahold of him. Thinking about the Armor of God. Well anhow.... I live in Vegas. Whoodoggie is it hot out!!.

  • @BetsyBurnett i'm mormon also. i also believe we will see michael again. he was so kind and sweet and innocent, like a child. in the scriptures it does say to be like the little children. Michael was also a loving father, i feel so bad for his kids, they lost a terrific dad, deserves the title of "#1 dad" or something like that

  • @tigerjemm Michael Jackson used to be a Jehovah's Witness.

Heal the World and buy fuel efficient cars from American companies. The U.S. economy sucks right now. Help rebuild America. Recycle your garbage and control the world's population. Overpopulation = more pollution. Prevent unwanted pregnancies and do the best to heal the world.

  • @britney4korea i know what michael is, we were talking about donny being LDS

  • He sure did! And it's great to know that he still had a good friend in you Donny! I was always his friend, even though I'd never met him or seen him in concert. Michaell will be remembered as one of the greats, at least by me he will! Thank you for posting this one! It's so cool that you can chat with us about stuff/anything here on YouTube! Thank you! ♥♥♥

  • Thanks Donny for sharing your personal stories about Michael with the world. I still can't believe he's gone. It made me smile when you said you know you'll see him again. :)

  • Thanks for sharing Donny! I do mis Michael, he was one of a kind!

  • Canadian National Exhibition. i was at that show too. thanks donny for sharing your memories.

  • Thank you for sharing Donny <3 I feel so bad for Michael, his death could have been avoided :(

  • Thank you so much for sharing Donny! God Bless!
