Where is he from? I don't think I've heard of him before. Btw, this song really fits Final Fantasy XII. It would be cool if FFXII had a song just like FFXIII did. (My Hands)
@TheFifthteenthMember He is Canadian, originally from Somalia. I don't think it really needed a song - they seldom do, and FFXII is a much different flavour from FFXIII.
You have done it again my friend! From catching the melancholic redemption in King Delita to capturing the entire cast of Vagrant Story in Hush and now to catching the uplifting story of a band of rebels only trying to reclaim their small kingdom.
I do hope that when Matsuno makes another 3D Ivalice game you will be there with another wonderful AMV to sum up the feelings of the game.
@HighPriestFuneral You can bet I will. I believe you were the one who linked Hush to an Ivalice fansite? You led me indirectly to FFHacktics. I owe you for that!
Anyway, I'm glad to hear that you liked this one, too. Matsuno's Ivalice deserves more fans than it has, so it's nice to hear that I'm representing it well in my work. Thank you very much.
@acidragdoll That was me, yes. With Matsuno back with Square Enix there is high hope that the next game he comes out with will be another Ivalice game. Especially since the "Fortress" game that took place in FFXII's Ivalice was cancelled, it's a heavy hope that Matsuno had something to do with that to assure his world wasn't blemished.
@HighPriestFuneral You know, I didn't properly look into FFTA until FFXII was already out, and once I did, I was horrified. A lot of people said that FFXII wasn't great or had a lot of dissonance, but I think that considering what the team had to work with - all of FFTA's awkward additions and leftovers - the title they released was just amazing. I still couldn't stomach Revenant Wings, but hey, you win some, you lose some... Looking forward to Matsuno's next work, though!
@acidragdoll It's admittedly an acquired taste. FFTA is still a very grey game, where it may be the only FF title where you play as the Villain. (Just googling Marche Villain gets you a ton of results). FFTA 2 seems to show that the "false" Ivalice was likely a real place. Well it does bring back into play the Gran Grimoire and the Gran Grimoire definitely has more character in that game.
@HighPriestFuneral I can't help but think that most of the game's "grey" is purely accidental. It seems to have been handled with all of the deft agility of a kingdom hearts title... and that's not a compliment. I've not tried FFTA2, though I've heard good things. Even so, I have to mentally separate out the advance titles from the console ones. The mood whiplash is too strong, and I liked the Gran Grimoire better back when it was Lea Monde.
@acidragdoll Heh, it's a good possibility. I like FFTA 2 personally. It's more of a localized tale than it is world saving with the main villains being a mafia like entity, only bit is that I wish the main villain had a bit more character. The mafia angle is an interesting take though.
Have you tried out Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together by chance? That's been Matsuno's newest game and was the game which really introduced him worldwide.
@HighPriestFuneral I heard great things about Tactics Ogre, but I didn't try it out myself. My gaming backlog is ridiculous and GOG.com keeps having sales, so now I have to finish Fallout 1 and 2 before I'm allowed to do anything else.
I didn't know it was by Matsuno, though. If that's the case, I'm putting it on the list. =)
Okay, this comment isn't going to make much sense, but here we go. I'd never heard this song before, and on hearing it, I don't like it. The song, that is. But I LOVE it with this video, and I LOVE this video. It works SO fantastic with the characters you depict and the story of the game, fighting the empire and restoring their homes.
I liked this video a lot. You chose the good cut scenes and clips from the game and made a coherent video that had a lot of relevance to the song. Great job.
I really love how you fit the lyrics in with the game. Wonderfully done~

@acidragdoll None of them need a song. But it never hurts

Can somebody please tell me who sings that song?

@TheFifthteenthMember It's listed in the info. K'naan.
