wait, i am baffled as to how the mortal kombat tournements work. when the representative enters the tounament, do they fight someoe else from another realm to the death and loser stays dead or does the loser come back to life to face other opponents?

1. Once a contestant is defeated they are eliminated from the tournament

2.If a contestant decides to kill his opponent after a "finish him" has been announced he may do so.

3. Earlier MK games didnt have a story mode and just had fights and a very basic story.
