  • Great flying! One day i'll get there. Is it me or is your engine on the lean side? Camera quality looks good too BTW.

  • @A2544321 Thanks a lot for the comment! I'm not sure if it was running lean or not but I think it was alright.

  • @PhysicsGuy2011 Didn't mean to criticise......i'm trying to get an ear for a well tuned engine but as you said there seems to be good smoke. Still at 12 celsius where i am so i'm still running on the rich side. I'm hoping i'll get to your level of flying in my lifetime!

  • @A2544321 O that's quite alright I always welcome other people's thoughts. I do know that if an engine is running lean one of the signs is that it will idle higher than usual once you land. I would try to not let that happen though because that means you have probably been running it too lean for too long. And yes, lots of smoke is a good thing to have ;-)

  • @A2544321

Two handy sayings to help people remember stuff.....

First of the month....change the clunk!

Plenty smoke Goooood......Little smoke Baaaaad! lol

  • Haven't yet managed to get my phoenix online. Every time i try to get on, it just say's can't connect to server. Have noted your 3DNewb and will try again to get it working.

  • That seems to make sense. Haven't actually heard that one before. I'm kind of thinking though, that maybe it's less hassle just replacing the clunk line once a month. I'm wondering why the fuel line from the tank to the exhuast, doesnt rot? Knackered a bevel gear, yet again, with a far too heavy auto, today. Put a new clutch in this week too, it's much smoother now and the blades don't rotate on tickover like they were. That's why i bin stetching the auto's too much!!

  • What is your online screen name on phoenix if you fly online? Mine is 3DNewb on phoenix.

  • Sent you a vid, sorry to say it's nowhere near as good as yours, but i keep practicing.

  • Don't kid yourself you are doing great judging by the video you sent me. Just keep taking your time and only doing things you are comfortable with and do them at a comfortable altitude.

  • Hello: If you watch your vid from 4:25 to 4:40---that's the the part I mean. Its exactly the same as phoenix 3D demo--on there it's almost right in the middle. I only noticed cause I've been practicing that move myself. Almost got it...almost! Question---how long before your clunk pipe in the main tank rots away. I've had two go in two months. Is it the exhaust gas???

  • My clunk line has not rotted out yet but I have only ran about 1.5 gallons through my bird. I am using Hayes clunk Line 4' from readyheli and the O.S. Bubbleless Fuel Tank Clunk Weight also from readyheli.

  • O, I just thought of this. Should have said it sooner. When you are done flying your heli for the day you need to unplug the fuel line going from the tank to the exhaust pipe and then fill your fuel tank all the way with fuel then empty the fuel back out of the tank. Doing this will push all the exhaust gases out of the tank that accumulate in the tank and refill the tank with clean air. I have heard that leaving these exhaust gases in the tank can cause the clunk line to degrade (or rot).

  • Just don't forget to plug the fuel line back in that is going from the tank to the exhaust pipe. ;-)

  • No sorry, it ends back into clockwise backwards inverted. Either way...your still better at it than me. lol lol

  • Thank you for the comment :-)

I am not exactly sure which part you are talking about but I would like to know for sure if you want to point out what time in the video it occurs.

  • I just noticed one of your moves. I regonize it from Duncan Osbornes demo on Phoenix. Clockwise backwards inverted, into anit-clockwise upright backwards, back into anti clockwise backwards inverted. I'm just trying to grasp that myself. lol. Looks like you maybe studied phoenix 3 D demo. Your doing better than me mind!!

  • What fuel are you using??? and what governor are you using??

  • I am using Byron fuels Rotor Rage 30% and I use the RevLimit that is integrated into the Spektrum AR7100R receiver instead of a standalone governor.

  • nice flying mate

  • nice fly, what muscle pipe do you use in your helicopter? congratulations, awesome

  • Thanks! I use the Align 50 High Performance Muffler with the O.S. 50 Hyper Engine.

  • wicked flying mate! jealous is the word!

  • Thank you very much! :-)

  • 5 Stars! Nice flown and impressive quality of the video.

  • Thanks a lot for your comment!

I am glad my new video camera is showing good quality.

  • Great video! Nice 3D i hope to do that some day.

  • Thanks for the comment! :-)

If you practice, practice, practice then I know you can do it.

P.S.: A simulator is your best friend. I recommend Phoenix Flight Simulator ;-)
