The eye-spinny guy would be John Linnell, who wrote the song... now you know why! It's great to find this on here, since my greatest hits CD set has an incomplete version of the song! Except for low volume, the sound is really not bad.
Both of them actually wrote this; they sat down at a piano and worked it out. Which is not how they normally do things; this was kind of a one-off thing.
I thought the quality of the recording was intentionally poor, and I kind of like it this way. It makes the whole video feel like a dream even more.

Um, it very possibly was Flansburg (did I even spell it right?) who wrote this song. I had it mixed up with "Boat of Car", anyway...:-?
