imitation is the highest form of flattery, and it's interesting that Harry Enfield is doing an 'On The Buses' parady, as it was funnier than he could ever be!
Trawling through some of these repsonses its apparent that half of you don't even realise that this is TAKING THE PISS out of On The Buses. Oh god. Please don't breed!!!
@blackmetaldad I agree about some responses on here mate, but don't agree On The Buses was terrible... corny in parts yes, and of its time, and needs to be seen that way. The now over-the-top PC era we live in sadly won't be affected by people viewing a 40-year-old sitcom on ITV3. I say 'sadly' because it's generally gone too far the other way in the UK, PC in itself is actually starting to cause potentially damaging conflict between cultures etc. Bit heavy for YT I know. GET THAT BUS OUT!!!
@blackmetaldad An affectionate piss-take I would wager. Just taking the lack of PC-ness to an extreme that wasn't in the original. That's what comedy sketches do, they exaggerate everything. They also mock '70s Doctor Who, Benny Hill etc. and combine them with OTB.

This sketch is the best kicking that pile of shite 'On The Buses' could ever get. I bought the DVD for my kids, on the premise that it seemed funny when I was 10 years old. But no...it isn't funny at all, not unless you find two ugly blokes laughing at their own shite jokes funny. The script is also aggressively sexist...I think OTB fans should move to a 3rd world islamic state where they can act out their gender fantasies 'free from the tyranny of PC'. Jesus.
I don't understand your point at all - I think you might want to get your special needs teacher to reread what I wrote, perhaps with picture symbols and some role play.
Why don't you just die a hermit in your sad little hovel? Just eat cat food and never come out. And fuck off to a terrorist state if it makes you happy... no double deckers there. :)))
I'm not sure if Harry and Paul, who I quite like, set out to prove with this just how feeble their commedy is nowadays compared with how it was done in the pioneer years, but they have successed. Look on YouTube for "Speed On The Buses" - someone else has done a much better job....
raving loonies i love these guys even the queen would piss herself watching this. quality sketch and please do more of the 70's to bring back the memories xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
this ranks amongst the most genius comedy ever written/directed. it's an immaculate parody and is possibly some of the stuff ever written. some people (guys in the USA) will never fully get how absolutely perfect this sketch is and that makes me sad.

I think that while this is a tribute to on the buses theres an element of disapproval of the " non pc " nature of the series which was a product of its time. enfield and whitehouse are also affected by the pc environment they emerged from. I dont quite understand the satire on barry cryer/ jimmy snazzbox , who was nothing to do with on the buses. maybe its part of the put down of older more conventional c omedy that appears in their work at times.
In the past the writers behind Love Thy Neighbour and other series of the time have appeared in interviews to defend their work and I thought maybe the interview segments of this were a satire on that?
to my 6 and maybe more critics Id stand by my analysis, but point out that despite it I do really like a lot of their stuff and appreciate the satire and social observation
@puddypuss fame, or noteriety at last. its funny seeing yourself as a censured commentator. to clarify, I really like their stuff, surprisingly. I was more moaning about the p c punk comedic environment they emerged from, which inevitably had some effect on them, though they are the best of that style too
theres no reason why not ,to make, continue this spoof on otb--the guys were very funny--and it still works--pretty good stuff-jack was perfect..more blackey wouldve been funnier--
Wonderful!!

As well as somebody already doing a better spoof, this spoof is not even as funny as the real thing so all in all quite pointless.
