Although I do feel it strayed from the original in cutting out the organ and the strings - which illustrate the eloquence of Kuja's character - this remix almost fits the scene where you fight him better.

At that point, Kuja is about to die, and, even though he has enough power to destroy a whole planet, he can't escape death. He isn't poetic, or whimsical, anymore; he's going insane from sheer terror, because he's about to die. And he's going to take you, and everything he can down with him.

I've seen mixed views over the Bass in this song, but thinking from a flow perspective, the Bass is just right. Its saying to the listener "thought you were getting a pretty, slow, and cutesy song, right? Guess again, dumbass". It really suits Kuja's character, since he was decieving people left and right.

I think the bass is what makes this song personally. Its good to hear bass actually flow with the song, sort of leading it with the other instruments. I think I prefer this song over the original due to the slow opening the original had. Thanks for remixing this song. :)

thing I've always found regarding the original was that it was far too slow paced. I'd have liked to see certain elements of the melody that seemed to have been lost here, but this is without a doubt the best remix of Dark Messenger I've ever heard, well done.

sigh... I've been hearing your songs for a month now, and your one problem, in my oppinion, is the only one you're apparently not working to fix. In almost every song, I lose track of the melody every time you kick into high gear. I've been waiting for you to realize this, but apparently I'm just going to have to tell you: If we can't hear the melody, we lose interest in the song. Often, I can only keep track of the song because I know what the original one sounded like.

in other words, don't go crazy with everything at once. whatever instrument is playing the main melody should always be the loudest and not drowned by the other instruments. Try making a song like that. There's nothing wrong with letting loose, but not with multiple instruments at the same time. You gotta let us hear the actual melody. I'm sorry if I sound harsh and I'm sure I'll get many thumbs down, but I'm only trying to give you pointers. Sorry if I'm offending you...

I kind of like that about his music. The actual melody has been heard a million times before; once it's been introduced in a piece, you'll naturally be attuned to it throughout; why not set it on the backburner and let loose with the other instruments? As long as the melody is always there as an anchor, it sounds fine.

that's my point. the anchor you speak of seems lost at times - and since remixes don't always stick with the tempo of the original (certain parts can be faster and others slower) this can really get you lost at sea. Pardon the metaphor. ;)
