I'm not the biggest ATWT fan, but I do remember watching the show during this storyline not to long ago. I am NOT an Emily Stewart fan, but Kelley Menighan Hensley should have gotten an Emmy nomination/win for her work in this storyline. She did a great job.
Yes, this was GREAT drama. This actually aired in January of 2006. That's when current headwriter Jean Passanate could actually write for the show unlike now. One of the most memorable stories in current years is the baby switch of Jennifer and Gwen's baby. Heartbreaking, dramatic and great drama!

The CBS eye bug wasn't even permanent within the 1988-1993 period (when this version of "The World Turns On and On" was used). The clip with Em and Paul must've been from the late 90s-early 2000s. I can tell by the sfx and music. I guess they were mixed together to see how it would look.

Jack Cortner rocks for creating every version of this theme song. It would be even cooler if he had wrote words to the song like his Edge of Night theme. And this is the best logo atwt has ever had or will ever have! It was the most realistic visual they ever used aside from the blue spotlight beams which i believe were used for special effect.

Just remember that all soaps owe such a debt of gratitude to ATWT and Guiding Light. There would be NO soap operas if it weren't for Proctor and Gamble who originated the format back in the thirties! I love ALL soaps, even the now defunct, but give me ATWT and GL anyday of the week!!!! My mom and grandma had it right!
I personally feel this music fits the mood of the this soap more than what they have now, and this clever splicing of new and old only proves that it still would be an awesome theme to use on the current episodes. I wish that the powers that be @ Proctor & Gamble should recycle this Jack Cortner composition for their current episodes of ATWT.

As The World Turns is a very good soap, and as CBS sucks why is B&B the most famous soap in the world, and ATWT is broadcasted in a few countries, here in The Netherlands it's a very famous soap!!!
How can you say this brings you back to the 60s when the computer animation used for this opening didn't exist back in the 60s? Hands down this is the best ATWT theme package of all time...
