  • If you carve a rolling pin wood spirit, and use it to roll out dough, when you bake it you'll have cake spirits...... I'm just sayin!

  • The rolling pin is pretty useless now :P

  • Nice work, very creative.

    Congratulations!

    Roberto - Brasil

  • that was awesome!!

  • Beautiful stuff banjo. I just got into wood carving and would love your opinion on what do u consider the best wood for carving and do u have any tips on sharpening your tools?.

  • You're very talented. Thanks for sharing your work.

  • Fantastic job there!!!

how long would it take to carve the three spirits on the rolling pin please?

  • @aflatminor SORRY A LATE REPLY,, I BEEN CARVING FOR A WHILE ,,, SO FOR ME I CAN DO THIS IN A FEW HOURS,, AND I DONT ATKE BUT A COUPLE BREAKS,, I GET TOO INVOLVED, AND HARD TO STOP.. THANKS

  • I really enjoyed your carving and presentation. The rolling pin idea is so neat. Makes me think of my grandmother's pin that had carved out pictures for cookies. That's how I got started carving but not on a pin lol. I love relief carving but have been away from it along time. Was wondering your thoughts of doing a relief carving out of a pastry board to get the depth on the relief. Don't know what type of wood it is. Was tired of gluing basswood strips together. Thanks and now inspired.

  • Great Man!! I'm beggining to carving based mainly in your figures, thanks for post.

What is the name of the sound track of the video? Can answer im my mailbox. Thnks!

  • @gorgona1993 Thanks hope you enjoy your carving ! the soundtrack came off the you tube, it was not the orignal I had first posted, but hope this video wil help you make one ,,, take care..

  • Great job Banjo7445!

I'd like to copy one of the heads you did for practice on a walking stick of mine but I was wondering if you could tell me how you make the details in the eyes. I think it is the 17th video shot in.

Is the black done with a marker? The mouth seems to be done the same way. Is it?

I appreciate your video and you sharing this info with me.

    Thanks,

    TheWhiteShaman

  • Great. I think I will buy a decent set of carving tools and a good vice and pick up carving again. It's been years since I tried it. At one time I actually had some good pieces come out.

  • Sounds great !

  • Hey man,

Me again. Around how long would it take u to make that - also what tools do you use for that fine detail of the moustache and hair etc. it looks wonderful

sry for the q's i just started learning how to carve but just using a standard swiss knife on scrap wood

  • I found some fine carving chissels in a flea market, menards has good carving chissels for a lathe if you have one, ACE harware also has carving chissels, in many cases I have made my own. Or you can find them on line.

  • Nice carving. Get rid of the running water sound effect. Very annoying.

  • Thanks, the water is in the song I had to use from you tube, they changed my orignal song.

  • Will they allow you to do some type of voice over. It would be nice to hear about the process as you go through it.

  • wonderful vid i loved it and what is that song it was perfect

  • Thanks,, and i dont remember ? I had to change it, cause of copy rights on the you tube ..

  • ok thanks anyways, if you happen to remember it or the artist plz tell me ty
