  • lol i played dragonage 2 and it wasnt looking like this

  • This was very useful! Now I know I don't have to try and get DX11 for a shitload of nothing. Thanks, good luck, have fun!

  • Rushing in with a rogue, now I know you aren't playing on Hard.

But more importantly, the vid quality is lossy, making it unfit for a graphics comparison, really. It's especially bad in motion, still images when in pause can still show something, but overall that doesn't make for a proper graphics showcase vid.

Game looks great, but the video is low fi.

  • So what is next? AMD and developers to disable shadows, HDR and bump mapping on DX11 hardware when promoting their DX12 hardware on windows 8?

  • Why on earth is AF , DOF and ambient occlusion locked out in DX9? The Witcher 2 in DX9 has all these features and it looks 10x better than DA2 in DX11.

  • it looks the same...

  • Can run this with these specs:

AMD Athlon dual core 2.70 ghz

    ATi Radeon Hd 4650

    4.00 GB RAM

    Screen resolution 1920x1080

Btw how can i check what directX i have??.

Nice video also, good gameplay. :)

  • @Tixpixvideos No, sorry.

  • @leopower7 dang it

  • Not easy to see the difference by watching a video, look at screenshots instead, it's mush easier to see....

  • Because running DX 9 in medium and DX 11 in Very High settings can do a fair comparison... anyhow both look almost the same in most games, DX9 is going to be 10 years old next year, meaning that a decade of "development" went towards making bricks prettier.. GG.

  • @Jeet0300 and bad or no use of tesselation.

  • D6950 Modified... do you mean overclocked? If not, what did you modify?

  • Yes, I believe that I noticed a lot of differences between 9 and 11

  • what do you mean by "modified" when your describing your video card, was it just a simple overclock, or some sort of hardware mod?

  • If you really can't see the difference, look at Bethany's spell effects. They're rocking in DX11.

  • wow the difference is so small its sad...DX11 is capable of so much more then that , whats with developers these days we have the hardware for these effects why not use them to there full potential.

  • @Sphoxros because these developers have gone console centric these days.

shitty pentium 3 machines. PC is a far better platform for any sort of game out there..

but still there will be an exception

    BATTLEFIELD 3.

  • DA11 does use some tessellation. It's not much, and you'll only notice it in the city. I've checked out screenshots online. That said, no this isn't full dx11, it's just subtle things. Of course, the game still looks great.

  • yea well this game wasnt made to be full dx 11 graphics

  • I noticed that the colors on your video are very vivid, mines are dull looking, did you change a setting around on your video card or something?

  • @JordanWilde Everything is being recorded straight from my graphics card through HDMI. Everything is on by default. It could be my monitor's LED color settings not sure. I use an ASUS VE228.

  • @JordanWilde I adjust brightness, color, contrast and sharpness in every game i play. I don´t know if exageratted but i get very good results. If a game doesn´t have antialiasing i turn down sharpness (lexample: mass effect 2). I´m talking about consoles anyway, but are graphics at 1080p trough hdmi too.

  • i tested both and there's no big diffrence, waste of money.

I play with a 4550ATI with 64 bit rate and i have 50-60 frames at medium with 2AA... so... you can play this game with a 50 bucks video card:))

  • @KenoKere

Heheh that is hilarious, look forums.nvidia.com there are ppl whining how they get 20fps with their gtx 460 & 560 etc.. im so happy i switched to radeon gpu. Its gonna take awhile to move on the green side i have my gtx 460 in my other comp to watch movies and even sometimes movies fucking stutter that is to pathetic stuff from nvidia beta fermi shit cards

  • @zilkoify grow up... Nvidia is way better then shiteon

  • @sermerlin1 Lol no, It isn't both AMD(former ATI) and Nvidia are doing a great job at making fine GPU's and of course Sometimes ATI gets a lead. And other times it's Nvidia.

However, the biggest difference i can note is that ATI cards have more stream processors.

Nvidia has Ageia physics, This will safe some stress on your CPU.

  • Not big difrence after all. And i agre they probably want to promote some hardware as well as dx11, maybe they got some silent agreement either with nvidia or ati for doing so, or they just sux at technical terms in their game. They claim they used a textures that cannot be used on dx9... well dx 9 bit map size limit is 4k, if those textures extend it im incarnation of god himself =) Same for other feautures.. since when dx9 do not allow to use AF lol

  • Still there are other things to consider.

Having a DX11 card increases the chances that your driver is compatible.

Running on a DX10.1 card myself and enabling DX11 causes random crashes(display driver has to reset and the game is terminated) wich is a gamebreaker, I have the Highres textures and "high" settings enabled, but not the SSAO since I need to enable DX11 for that.

Striclty speaking from experience, hopefully there is a workaround for SSAO at least.

  • i think i see some tessellation

  • My card is DX10, the game offers options in DX11 and DX9 ... you can choose to run DX11 for DX10 with more video options including the High mode ... but the game runs better in DX9 with AA 8x than in DX11 AA off, I saw no difference between medium and high (the option of using HD textures on) ... so if your card is DX10, use DX9 renderer, no visible losses and runs smoother...but, if your card is DX11 I cant tell, in this vídeo I cannot much difference as well...sorry for my english (brazil)...

  • I really can't notice much a of a difference besides the ground looking better.

  • @CraziiDago DX11 is a marketing trick, just like DX10. The game does look better in DX11, but all those features and "HQ textures" could be shown in DX9. This is just another way to up sell hardware that nobody actually needs.

  • @clarkkov Dx11 is mainly a performance increase if you didnt know. It uses the same exact features of the previous DirectX versions, but it does it in a way that costs less resources and has a higher FPS output. Dx11 and Dx10 have performance issues with HQ tessalation while Dx11 keeps resource usage low and FPS output high.

  • @conmana10 No, DX11 is more demanding an has big impact on performance. However, your comment confirmed my observation, DX11 has same features as DX9, but why would you need a DX11 card to unlock them? People with Crossfire/SLI cards that are more than capable to pull this graphics are screwed and have to buy a DX11 card. HQ textures are ordinary textures, only bigger, thus demand more graphics memory (1GB). Two GT9800 have 1GB of RAM, or even one. Tessellation can be handled by DX9 card.

  • @clarkkov Just a point- SLI and Crossfire do not combine your video memory, your vram is the amount of a single card.

  • @CraziiDago

the ground "looks better" because he has AF at 16x (or max).

his previous setting was only at Medium. Dx9 with maxed out AF on the otherhand would look the same as this "ground".

AF if i'm not wrong is short for Anisotropic Filtering.

  • @GiantTeddy86 Lol dude you're an ass, I never even said anything.

  • @CraziiDago Then get your eyes checked.
