you would think it was nice to live there until you actually lived there. I live there and its over run with tourist during the warmer months. love the winter though
@Skatetheboard546 Isn't tourism how many of the locals actually earn a living though? I would think so with all of the shops directed towards the tourists. I am sorry to be one of the tourists but i love this place in the summer and i'm sure I contributed to mnany meals being put on some of the locals tables over the years. So sorry you feel this way.
awesome. the ironic thing is. in 2008 my mom her bf and me and my sis went camping near there for memoral day weekend. and on my 19th birthday we were going to go to the bat caves but they said the bats wernt there so we went to chimney rock instead
Was there 7/29/2009... Weather was hot, steaming, raining, and miserable. Hope its nicer other times of the year! Quant & charming place, albeit a bit touristy.
I used to Live in Lake Lure for 9 years! I moved two years ago. It was beautiful and a great place to live...most of the time. Thanks for the video; ah, the memories!
Wow. I go to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure all the time. I am from Columbia, SC. You passed by the st ore of my friend, Willow Creek Gift Shop and his brown Ford Explorer is still parked outside. I am going back on labor day. Hope to see u.
I was thinking specifically of Staunton, Virginia....they've done massive restoration to a couple historic areas and have some lovely small shops. Maybe I need to video for you.
Hi James. The scenery in the state of North Carolina is quite beautiful. I hope to go to Highlands, North Carolina soon where there are lots of waterfalls flowing into mountain side streams. Thanks for watching my travels. -jim
Hey there fehquig. Yea, I know what you mean. I could just sit beside that river for hours. It was very peaceful and relaxing. Thanks for watching. -jim
Hi Curt. The mountains of North Carolina really are quite beautiful. I didn't feel the water but I'm betting it was very cold. Thanks for watching buddy. -jim
Looks like you got a good job there. I used to travel when I worked for an election company to counties all over the United States. America is the best country in the world for several reasons.
Love the sound of that 'creek'--here, in the desert, that is a raging river! ;) I LOVE Chimney Rock! How quaint. It reminds me of some of the old mining towns here in NM. They became ghost towns, then were repopulated and refurbished into artist colonies. This was by far the best tour yet.
Thanks Vicky. That creek, as I called it, turns out to be the Broad River. I've never been to NM but one of these days I hope to visit. Thanks for watching. -jim
Hey there Sheryle. I would just love to live by a Rive like that. In the video I called it a creek but actually it's the Broad River which crosses the Carolinas. Thanks for watching. -jim
