  • It is very nice to see that George Lazenby has a good fan base as James Bond.

  • He was a bloody good Bond. OHMSS remains one of the best Bond films of all time.

  • Wow , that James Bond. I'm certainly envious.

  • He looked the most like Cary grant who was the model for the film Bond. Grant was one of Brocolli's friends who turned down the role.

  • Grant would have KICKED ASS TOO! Just watch NOTORIOUS or CHARADE and you will see what I mean

  • Actually Charade was an answer to the Bond movies with the Hitchcock irony.

North by North West is considered by many to be the Pre-Bond Bond movie that set the standard. Again where talking about Cary Grant. Charade was a Stanley Donen effort which was well done. By the way Grant was almost 60!

  • Sean Connery was the best Bond, hands down, but George Lazenby was a close second. I think he was more of what Ian Fleming wanted in a Bond. Do not get me wrong. I still think Connery was the best, but is Lazenby had continued as 007, he may have been the best ever. Add that to the fact that HIS Bond girl was Diana Rigg and any hard core 007fan is in heaven. Rigg was a close second to Ursula Andress

  • Man, he looks great! He still has a strong chin, a full head of hair, and a trim build. He must be genetically gifted. I've just recently come to appreciate OHMSS for the fine, albeit off-beat, film that it is. And Lazenby made a SUPERB Bond, somewhat like what we would have had if a young, more athletic Cary Grant had played the role.

  • You hit the nail on the head with that Cary Grant remark!

  • He is still indpendently wealthy. He married rich and also invested his Money in prime real estate when it was hot. Also he was one of the few people Bruce Lee trusted in the Movie world. So much so he bacame partners in a production firm before his untimely death. You need to do more research and rely on appearances.

  • I'm DEFINITELY jealous... it's a shame there aren't any conventions around here, I'd love to meet Bond face to face!! No gripes about which one I'd want to meet either...

  • He reminds most to that Bond which is in Flemings book. Majesty's Secret Service is a great film, one of my favourite Bonds ever.

  • I want to meet him, he is the best Bond there ever was.

  • Him and Timohy Dalton are akin to the literary Bond, and Lazenby nailed the part but the difference is that he was never an actor, unlike Dalton, but if he made a few more movies he would have developed his acting ability and he would be the #1 of all Bond actors, but my favs still Timothy Dalton

  • i think if he stayed he would have been a victim of the bad, goofy and dumb movies with all the gadjets and comedy he`s my fv bond too because his portral was dead on with the ohmss novel so was the script great fight scenes no dumb gadjets and more character driven the only bond movie that even stands with it is casino royale

  • He was the perfect gentlemen, had absolutely no trouble getting him to pose for the video & various photo's. He was very talkative and shook our hands, it was just a real honour for me, to meet part of a legacy that I love.

  • It's always grated away at me that people tend to say he wasn't good at the part and that he was a failure, as I believe he was fantastic as Bond! OHMSS is definitely one of the best in the series. Did he say much about playing the role?

  • I thought he made a very good 007, and was extremely underrated. Despite being no Sean Connery who remains my favourite to this day, he did the character justice, and On Her Majesty's Secret Service was a great film in my opinion. It was a true honour meeting him, he was a very nice chap. =D

  • yes, its true, I think he was a really good Bond

  • Even though most people said he ruined the image of Bond, and that's why he wasn't allowed to do any more, I still don't believe those people.

  • I thought Lazenby quit the role.

  • He was a good bond, but sadly, they let him go because of the smaller amount of money the movie was making. It was short about 10,000 dollars short of their goal.

  • He did quit; he wasn't actually fired.

  • Yep, he was offered a seven picture contract but his bonehead manager convinced him that Bond was beneath him.

  • Yes, had he of taken the contract we would have seen him as Bond in all films up to and including For Your Eyes Only (1981).

  • dayumn! He is OLD!!!! lol jk

  • Erhhh....and Sean Connery & Roger Moore look young do they?

  • I wish I could meet him some day!

  • Aw, that's cool.
