Dont know about the hondas and others but 97 voyager is a nightmare, "sideways engine"v6 -wanna do a tune up better take off the manifold to get to the back valve cover-tune up cost as much as the van-think about buyn a used-"better run like hell"-a giant bic lighter with wheels, once its done throw it away
@minivanman1356 Top seller don't mean quality! Excluding the Routan even though it is a Volksed up Caravan, it is a plastic disgrace, an uncomfortable ride on the highway too!
@AirCanadaA55555A the routan i own one it is so comforable i had it a year and put 12,000 mile most of hiway its so queit it traction control is the best i have ever used it is fun to drive lots of power and nice features i only paid 30,000 and got the se with dvd
i seriously think that handling should be completely ruled out of minivan comparisons. Families don't buy minivan's based on handling, they buy it based on features, safety, and like-ability, in which all of these van's deliver. 95% of people don't take handling into consideration when buying a family van.
another piece to prove how shitty chrysler is...why do ppl like throwing their money away? a fucking brand new chrysler town and fucking country that's gonna depreciate so fast will actually make you lose money. opt for honda odessy and enjoy the ride quality and the luxury, performance and SAVE money by the higher resale value. pay like 8k more...i think its totally worth it. unfortunately some ppl are stupid and they don't understand
@Shuffle3956 You get more for your money with Chrysler! I don't see the Honda *Odyssey coming standard with power sliding doors and liftgate! Or a 6.5 inch touchscreen radio!
@carlover2013 if the quality is great or people question about hoq good stuff will handle up against time then its not the best chrysler just started to do good. take the chrysler 200 if its not a v6 than the engine sucks its a very nice looking car better then older ones
@CrashJSTest Chrysler's 4th gen minivan was by far the best I believe as well. But the 5th gen (current) is better than any foreign minivan. Chrysler created the minivan so they by far have the advantage
I think that the Chrysler is the best of the bunch I have a caravan and it has out lasted the two Honda minivan mom owned one had electric problems and the other just lost it's trans mission
hondas are the best cars. period. they just last the longest. toyotas come next and after that well, idk. the rest all seem to have reliability issues
Funny how they like the 'cushy' ride in the Sienna, but in the Chrysler it was a negative. We have a 2004 Sienna. While yes, it is reliable, it is miserable to drive. ALOT of road noise, completely unresponsive steering, interior is completely plastic that scratches easily, transmission has always jerked unless you ease onto the gas like it's a stick shift. Oh, and it requires premium gas to get just 23 mpg highway....and that's if you have an extremely light foot.
@letour32rr Premium gasoline won't increase your fuel economy, so that is completely false. Higher octane fuel mitigates engine knock and pinging for engines with higher compression ratios. Some cars, mostly luxury and premium vehicles require or recommend it. The Sienna's V6 engine drives fine with regular. In fact, the owners manual recommends it. 23 miles per gallon is very good though, if that includes city driving.
@pumpkinman3211 i agree with you, i owned a 2008 t&c touring. back in upstate new york. it woks well on snow storm, love how the esp works. when it comes to reliability, t&c is my bet. well right here is CA, i owned a 2011 chrysler t&c 3.6L with higher hp than the old ones. big fan of t&c.
@eemsretsam thanks my uncle has a 2005 t&c he really like it but we have a 2000 honda van it runs great but you can feel every bump in the road is that normal for a 11 year old van.
i hate gm and honda and toyota because gm know that they are with toyota and our trying to stay away from the media because they helped toyota and will get put out of the market that would make my life so i say CHRYSLER now CHRYSLER later AND CHRYSLER FOREVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
I have worked on many minivans and chrysler vans are very service friendly. Many problems you can fix yourself if your a little handy. Keep up on fluid changes and you will have very few problems. To avoid transmission problems change the fluid every 2 years or 30,000 miles, which ever comes first.
I Think the Honda Odyssey is the ALL TIME best minivan ever. It may not be as luxury as American or European minivans, but it surely overtakes any minivan in performances. Plus, the Sportish look that it has makes one attracted to the odyssey and It is the only Minivan in the World that has a speedometer of 160m (260km).

You cannot fathom how much I cannot stand the Honda odssey, To me the most important thing about buying a car is the design and the popularity. You people driving the odyssesy everywhere, and the interior is just nasty. Hands down the Volkswagen Routan for its sporty design in both exterior and interior and for the fact that they are rarely seen on the road compared to the other competitors. Ford had a great minivan until they stopped production of it

When we got into an accident with our 2008 Odyssey our rental car was an 08 T&C and IT WAS HORRIBLE the interior pieces weren't put together well the right stow and go seat though very handy had two plastic pieces that wouldn't stay on, the windshield gave everyone who drove it a headache and you could hear that 3.8 V6 even on the highway plus the van wasn't even quiet even when going 2 MPH
@EpiDemic117: Honda is not the best.... In this comparison the Kia is the best value because you can get a fully loaded Kia Sedona EX w/ Leather and all the goodies for 29,490 Versus a fully loaded Honda Odyssey EX w/ leather and all the goodies for 30,615.... You save youself a nice grand and get the Same Quality and the Hyundai/Kia warantee of 10 YEARS 100,000 mile warantee! Now whos the best? Kia!
@DJEddieXZ "You save youself a nice grand and get the Same Quality"
Dude it is NOT the same friggin quality! I just worked on a Hyundai the other day! They are horribly engineered! I don't understand what they were thinking when they made that car but it is true what they say. You get what you pay for here. In a couple years the Kia wont be worth shit and start falling apart while the Honda will hold it's value because of it's dependability.
Lol I love the ignorance of the people on here! Kia passed TOYOTA in quality! Thats means THE WORLD for them and shows that THEY ARE IMPROVING! Next they will over come Honda in a few years, You need to wake up myfriend, Hyundai/Kia is rising to the top!
@DJEddieXZ The whole gimmick that car companies are playing today are claims on Someone passing the other in quality. holy shit! i see yet another one on the side ad. It says "The new Taurus. " Taurus quality is unsurpassed by Honda accord, nissan Maxima and Toyota Avalon". My point is concluded. They all think they can say that but yet again. They are wrong. Drive the two for a couple of years then you show me where the quality is. Because it's all bullshit on their claims; They fall apart.
@EpiDemic117 I am speaking from experience my friend. I own a 2004 Kia Optima and I have not had any problems with it, ANDD I bought it used. Is my point clear?
We had a 98 accord V6, transmission failed at 148k :| I looked online and found tons of reports of transmission failure, I wish I had checked earlier. Wife has an 05 Accord with 50k miles, handles worse than 97 Avalon w/159k and 03 Camry with 126k miles. I love the smooth shifting of 98 & 03 Camry, 99 Solara 157k, 97 & 01 Avalon (139k), Altima (used to have 98 as well as 04) and Quest 04 (haven't driven any Sienna yet). Only changed brakes on Avalon, and axle on 98 Altima 172k mile
Also, The Kia Sedona and Hyundai Entourage are the FIRST AND ONLY MINI VANS TO EARN BOTH THE INSURANCE TOP SAFETY PICK AND THE GOVERNMENTS FIVE STAR CRASH TEST RATING IN ALL FOUR CATEGORYS.
@DJEddieXZ Kias and Hyundai's aren't quality vehicles like Hondas are. I'm sorry to say but ive worked on a Hyundai. The engineering is so poorly thought out. to change a god damn head light bulb on one you have to tweak with it a little which is a pain. Nothing in the world comes for free. My point, being that the product is cheaper mostly means the quality is cheaper. Unless they've found a brilliant workaround or some new form of tech (which they haven't) to help cut costs.
@EpiDemic117 In the past I agree, they were poorly built cars, but they have improved since then. Ever since the 2006 Model year, they have been on a roll with building better cars & suvs. Kia surpased Toyota which used to be the "hallmark" of good cars. That speaks for itself!
@DJEddieXZ Toyotas engines are still pretty damn reliable. Aside form that they are having a lot of issues with other things. Hondas have always been bulletproof and well made quality cars.
@EpiDemic117 Not really... People seem to forget that Toyota has had ENGINE OIL SLUDGE problems with their Toyota Camry and Lexus ES cars and also with other Toyota/Lexus models. It mainly happens with the V6 Engines
how about reliability Honda got rated better than average in Consumer Reports as Kia was worse than average and in the Kia you either get a navigation system or the DVD entertainment system as in the Honda you can get both at the same time
I'm glad they didn't test GM minivans. we had a Pontiac van and it was a death trap. We had several late model GMs that gave us pure hell. I think Domestics should leave the minivan segment up to the imports. GM's last attempt at a minivan turned out to be an ugly mistake...LOL! Chryslers do ok but they do have their problems that still needs working out.
that's why the accord is not called a luxury vehicle you should have atleast gone for an Acura which is a Luxury Vehicle because what do did was a downgrade
I call BS, they complain about the T&C having a soft suspension, but when the Toyota comes around they claim that its "cushy suspension" is perfect and befitting for a minivan. Town and Country should have taken top spot, I don't have any idea why people consider the abomination of a vehicle, the Sienna, to even be a competitor at all, and Honda simply relies on their badge to do the talking.
Chrysler Town and Country is easily #1...of course that means the Routan is as well.
bullshit .....you are just biased trying to suck america's big dick....go suck on your dads...which is surely accustomed to you by now...ass ape donald
all these new mini vans just blow me away, I currently own a 2001 chrysler town and country lx plain jane it has hubs for goodness sake and I love it its not all luxury and dazzled up like a drag queen or anything its nice I get decent gas mileage 26 on the high way cruisin it + i got power when needed it seats 7 quite well and its base 3.3 litre is peppy yet efficient and it still looks fresh as hell so I think when I buy a new van it'll be a T&c prolly the touring cuz i love leather .,
I knew the Odyssey would come out on top. I own the 2003 model, have examined all of the above competition- beyond watching it on screen- and there is no contest. They're accurate in the 'sleeper' remark about the Sienna, but the Odyssey has the most impressive get up and go, superior build quality, best looking in my opinion (Routan's pretty sharp too). Everything just fits and works the way it should. It's very harmonious in that regard.
Chrysler dropped the ball with this redesign. They got the innovative features thing down pat, but the platform is essentially the same as the old model, which means it's not as smooth and silent as the Toyota or as agile and poised as the Honda. They didn't really improve interior quality and the 4.0 V6 ought to be standard across the board like others do with their vans, making the best V-6 standard on all models.
the honda has the shittiest interior. its borring. it has looked the same for like 10 years. the toyota is the same. my mom owns the kia and i agree it deserves last. but the wv and chrysler are the most fun, best fuel economy (they didnt mention that), an the exterior and interior are obviously better. in the us 90% of the minivans are made by chrysler. i see the new ones a lot too...
The Chrysler/VW interior is horribly. Assembly quality is okay but every single plastic piece is hard and some are wobbly. Even the shifter is sloppy and chintzy. The powertrain is a slam dunk though.
BTW 90% of vans made in the US are not Chrysler. Toyota and Honda have been creeping up on Chrysler for several years now.
um excuse me mr cool. nice name btw. no matter how crappy the interior plastic is, it still ends up looking much better than the toyota and escpecially the peice of shit odyssey's interior. have u seen the odyssey interior. a bet i could find a better interior in some crap from the 90s. the toyota's isnt that bad but the way they put the items on it just makes it look ugly. and never make fun of volkswagon. the interior, exterior, and value is always good
Not a chance, dude; have you seen the Ody lately? I've got the second gen and it looks nothing like the current version. In build quality on the interior/trim bits- MAYBE the Routan can take second place to the Ody (absolutely top notch quality) because I thought the Sienna to be kind of lacking inside considering price. And I already know that no Chrysler powerplant will outlast a Honda engine without serious work down the road.
Because A): you're wrong; the Caravan is top selling in Canada I believe, and B) the Uplander/Montana aren't even being sold anymore because they fail and Pontiac is being phased out. Not sure where you're getting your stats. I'm a Chev guy (Honda guy overall) but I like Chev trucks and I can say that the Montana is one of the most worthless piles of dog shit GM ever made.
Show me where it says-even within the past 5-8 years- where the Montana is number one in Canada. It's just been discontinued here because 09 was to be the last model year. You won't find a 2010 year because they aren't making one. Sure you can buy one still- there's a whole line of them at Dueck GM that are selling new for what I paid for my 2003 Odyssey used.
i know a dude that had a montana...he said once it hit 100,000 miles...it was the biggest pile of shit ...he couldnt even keep it on the road because of so many bullshit repairs
noo, that us like stupidest and ugliest design i ever seen in my life. The Chrysler and the Toyota minivans has a good design. (sorry, its my own opinion) ;)
support your Exonmoy buy buying north american like DODGE , CHRYSLER AND GM.. canada has finally decided to put limits on imports in our country on how many they can make

I like Sienna better than Odyssey as far as looks are concerned. Of course Honda transmission isn't reliable

Why does it always seem like they play favortisim to Honda products??
DJEddieXZ 2 years ago
@DJEddieXZ
Because they are the BEST!!! The quality shows in their products.
EpiDemic117 2 years ago
@EpiDemic117: Honda is not the best.... In this comparison the Kia is the best value because you can get a fully loaded Kia Sedona EX w/ Leather and all the goodies for 29,490 Versus a fully loaded Honda Odyssey EX w/ leather and all the goodies for 30,615.... You save youself a nice grand and get the Same Quality and the Hyundai/Kia warantee of 10 YEARS 100,000 mile warantee! Now whos the best? Kia!
DJEddieXZ 2 years ago
@DJEddieXZ "You save youself a nice grand and get the Same Quality"
Dude it is NOT the same friggin quality! I just worked on a Hyundai the other day! They are horribly engineered! I don't understand what they were thinking when they made that car but it is true what they say. You get what you pay for here. In a couple years the Kia wont be worth shit and start falling apart while the Honda will hold it's value because of it's dependability.
EpiDemic117 2 years ago
Lol I love the ignorance of the people on here! Kia passed TOYOTA in quality! Thats means THE WORLD for them and shows that THEY ARE IMPROVING! Next they will over come Honda in a few years, You need to wake up myfriend, Hyundai/Kia is rising to the top!
DJEddieXZ 1 year ago

@EpiDemic117 I bought it at 77,000 and it now has 96,435 problem free

@DJEddieXZ MY accord has 142k miles on it. No problems either.
EpiDemic117 1 year ago
@EpiDemic117 Thats cool, Did you buy it new or used?
DJEddieXZ 1 year ago
@EpiDemic117,
We had a 98 accord V6, transmission failed at 148k :| I looked online and found tons of reports of transmission failure, I wish I had checked earlier.

DJEddieXZ 1 year ago
@DJEddieXZ Kias and Hyundai's aren't quality vehicles like Hondas are. I'm sorry to say but ive worked on a Hyundai. The engineering is so poorly thought out. to change a god damn head light bulb on one you have to tweak with it a little which is a pain. Nothing in the world comes for free. My point, being that the product is cheaper mostly means the quality is cheaper. Unless they've found a brilliant workaround or some new form of tech (which they haven't) to help cut costs.
EpiDemic117 1 year ago
@EpiDemic117 In the past I agree, they were poorly built cars, but they have improved since then. Ever since the 2006 Model year, they have been on a roll with building better cars & suvs. Kia surpased Toyota which used to be the "hallmark" of good cars. That speaks for itself!
DJEddieXZ 1 year ago
@DJEddieXZ Toyotas engines are still pretty damn reliable. Aside form that they are having a lot of issues with other things. Hondas have always been bulletproof and well made quality cars.
EpiDemic117 1 year ago
@EpiDemic117 Not really... People seem to forget that Toyota has had ENGINE OIL SLUDGE problems with their Toyota Camry and Lexus ES cars and also with other Toyota/Lexus models. It mainly happens with the V6 Engines
DJEddieXZ 1 year ago
@DJEddieXZ quite so. But I'm not really a fan of toyotas. They have always been bland to me. Just not my cup of tea.

@DJEddieXZ 1999 accord coupe. 2.3 liter i4. Still stable and reliable as all hell.

how about reliability Honda got rated better than average in Consumer Reports as Kia was worse than average and in the Kia you either get a navigation system or the DVD entertainment system as in the Honda you can get both at the same time

Chrysler Town and Country is easily #1...of course that means the Routan is as well.

all these new mini vans just blow me away, I currently own a 2001 chrysler town and country lx plain jane it has hubs for goodness sake and I love it its not all luxury and dazzled up like a drag queen or anything its nice I get decent gas mileage 26 on the high way cruisin it + i got power when needed it seats 7 quite well and its base 3.3 litre is peppy yet efficient and it still looks fresh as hell so I think when I buy a new van it'll be a T&c prolly the touring cuz i love leather .,
totallyme17 2 years ago
DO NOTTTTT get the new T&C they're not nearly as reliable as what your have in your hands now
ctb395 1 year ago
I knew the Odyssey would come out on top. I own the 2003 model, have examined all of the above competition- beyond watching it on screen- and there is no contest. They're accurate in the 'sleeper' remark about the Sienna, but the Odyssey has the most impressive get up and go, superior build quality, best looking in my opinion (Routan's pretty sharp too). Everything just fits and works the way it should. It's very harmonious in that regard.
TannerFehr 2 years ago
they never showed the interior in this video. but it is outdated for a fact. every buttons and screens are shoved into a small space
vipermoon64 2 years ago
Chrysler dropped the ball with this redesign. They got the innovative features thing down pat, but the platform is essentially the same as the old model, which means it's not as smooth and silent as the Toyota or as agile and poised as the Honda. They didn't really improve interior quality and the 4.0 V6 ought to be standard across the board like others do with their vans, making the best V-6 standard on all models.
TheNewMrCool 2 years ago
the honda has the shittiest interior. its borring. it has looked the same for like 10 years. the toyota is the same. my mom owns the kia and i agree it deserves last. but the wv and chrysler are the most fun, best fuel economy (they didnt mention that), an the exterior and interior are obviously better. in the us 90% of the minivans are made by chrysler. i see the new ones a lot too...
vipermoon64 2 years ago
The Chrysler/VW interior is horribly. Assembly quality is okay but every single plastic piece is hard and some are wobbly. Even the shifter is sloppy and chintzy. The powertrain is a slam dunk though.
BTW 90% of vans made in the US are not Chrysler. Toyota and Honda have been creeping up on Chrysler for several years now.
TheNewMrCool 2 years ago
um excuse me mr cool. nice name btw. no matter how crappy the interior plastic is, it still ends up looking much better than the toyota and escpecially the peice of shit odyssey's interior. have u seen the odyssey interior. a bet i could find a better interior in some crap from the 90s. the toyota's isnt that bad but the way they put the items on it just makes it look ugly. and never make fun of volkswagon. the interior, exterior, and value is always good
vipermoon64 2 years ago
Not a chance, dude; have you seen the Ody lately? I've got the second gen and it looks nothing like the current version. In build quality on the interior/trim bits- MAYBE the Routan can take second place to the Ody (absolutely top notch quality) because I thought the Sienna to be kind of lacking inside considering price. And I already know that no Chrysler powerplant will outlast a Honda engine without serious work down the road.
TannerFehr 2 years ago
Thats Bull..... The Kia Sedona should have been second and the Sienna should be last... they play favortism
Muriness1 2 years ago
I really hope Toyota redesigns the Sienna soon, I genuinely believe it's one of the ugliest vehicles on the road in its current form.

do you think you can do a test for the Pontiac Montana Sv6
as they are #1 here in Canada
prckay 2 years ago
No. That would be a waste of time.
TannerFehr 2 years ago
why would it be a waiste of time as it is the number one minivan in Canada and Mexico and #2 in USA
prckay 2 years ago
Because A): you're wrong; the Caravan is top selling in Canada I believe, and B) the Uplander/Montana aren't even being sold anymore because they fail and Pontiac is being phased out. Not sure where you're getting your stats. I'm a Chev guy (Honda guy overall) but I like Chev trucks and I can say that the Montana is one of the most worthless piles of dog shit GM ever made.
TannerFehr 2 years ago
Actually Pontiac Montana is still made in Canada is the NUmber one in Canada Actually
as it considred a Sports Utility Van
And Pontiac is actually remaining in Canada exclusivly a dealer in Ottawa Will oen 50% and GM Canada the Other
prckay 2 years ago
Show me where it says-even within the past 5-8 years- where the Montana is number one in Canada. It's just been discontinued here because 09 was to be the last model year. You won't find a 2010 year because they aren't making one. Sure you can buy one still- there's a whole line of them at Dueck GM that are selling new for what I paid for my 2003 Odyssey used.
TannerFehr 2 years ago
