Cool! I was one of the kids dancing on the beach in this scene with this song! We all had a lot of fun making this movie! I'm glad I got a chance to be a part of it. I was on three days shooting at Malibu and Santa Monica Beach in June 1965. They got this quickie into theaters within a couple of months after that. I met Jody McCrea and John Ashley, and Annette, Dwayne Hickman and Frankie Avalon. They were all really cool people, not stuck up at all.
Elizabeth Montgomery (who later played Samantha on Bewitched) and who eventually stuffs the wild bikini was married to William Asher, the producer and director of this movie.
@virgin2point0 Dick Dale played left handed with the strings still strung upside down the the high E on the top. He was in some of these films though, including Beach Party, the very first of the genre from `63.
my god this is so cheesy and corny if it were made in the 80s it would have had chevy chase in it and would have even had a sequel How To Stuff A Wild Bikini 2.
@MrDennyman : yeah .. I agree with you a hundred percent, friend. Hopelessly corny & bizarre. For a while there .. earlier-on, in my younger days .. I took a kind of purist surfer's philisophical stand against this Hollywood shmaltz .. preferring instead to head in the direction of stuff like Bruce Brown's "The Endless Summer". But .. as I moved into middle age .. & mellowed out .. I rediscovered this wonderful genre of cinema history. Nowadays .. I can't get enough of this cornball fun ...
@colindominy Lol. Colin. I know a lot about mellowing out but I can't handle this movie... embarasses me. I have returned to a lot of things I rejected in my youth...but there's something about this s*** that tells me to move on. But if you get into it, that's cool. As they say, to each his own.
I was just kind of wondering how this clip would've ensued if Nikki Minaj popped up in that bikini instead of that Ginger chick.

The last of the "BEACH PARTY" starring Annette Funicello and Frankie Avalon. Annette was pregnant with her daughter during the filming of this movie.

To me, this song sounds like it could've been from a TV commercial of that time. Not that this is a bad thing, mind you.
