I know paci's are bad for kids teeth and all but better than dragging those stupid blankets EVERYWHERE. Not that the sextuplets do but at least most kids would be okay with any paci, most blankies have to be specific ones and constantly there.

@Baebol My niece ... she was attached to her blanket like it was stuck to her body. It was just that one blanket and could never find another one like it. She wouldn't take another one and wouldn't sleep without it. Yeah everyone who knows me personally knows I can't stand them and why :D

I wish it was this easy for everyone! I babysat for a child who was told day in and day out that he was giving away the pacifiers at age three. He turned three and had so many meltdowns that he was given "paci time" for a couple minutes a day, but that wasn't enough. He'd hide the pacifiers so they couldn't be taken away! Eventually he did rid himself of the habit, just in time to leave for preschool!

Thank goodness there are parents like Jon and Kate. I've just seen a video called 'Baby Mama' (good song) but with depressing comments such as 'ma daughter is a baby mama at da age 15'. And you just know the 'baby mamas' and kids are going to end up on drugs costing the taxpayers billions each year. At least there are decent parents like Jon and Kate, Kate especially gets a lot of critisism when she shouldn't as she is a role model.

I threw out my son's pacies - giving them away is kinda gross. They are cheap, it's not like they are expensive like other baby stuff.

pugsrock40, just like you should throw out bottle nipples that are old, you should also throw out pacifiers, it's actually dangerous not to because the rubber can crack and pieces of it break off.

That's true. With my son, I just cut the tips off the soothers when he wasn't looking, and he thought they were broken and that was that. :-)

Why people have thumbed down my comment, is beyond me. Pacifiers should either be thrown or the plastic recycled. You shouldn't teach kids that it's okay to give something you've sucked on for 3 years to other kids. No amount of sterilizing will fix the break down of the rubber. They DO crack and get old and gross...usually after 6 - 8 months.

I think, they were trying to instill in there children that they had grown up, and that its for *baby's* I honestly don't think someone would give there baby used pacifiers I mean if you are that in need you can get that and just about any $1.00 store.
