"Lady from the mountain" is one of my favorite demos so I was thrilled to recognize it in this song. But unfortunatelly it continues into a bloated forgettable chorus, really a shame. What ever happened to 'less is more' ? I'll stick to the demo.

I love this album. I can't believe she released something like it this late in her career. It's definitely one of her best. It almost feels like a greatest hits album. My one complaint is the first single. It's not even one of the best tracks from the album. I'm not sure why they released it first. Very odd.

how could anyone pick any favorites of this cd. Wow i am so knocked out by this cd if this does not win some kind of aware at the grammies next year. I will never watch the grammis again. i love all of her music but this is amazing stuff. Please play alot of this cd on your tour this summer including this song. The whole song really wasn't written about New Moon, just the middle verse, the chorus, and the bridge. The first and last verses were written in 1976 about her relationship with Lindsey Buckingham.

To make you feel better she just put on her facebook new moon inspired the song completely. The movie just hit home because of her relationship with Buckingham. So in a way the song was about him because thats like all shes wrote about since their split but new moon is the reason the song exists.

Obviously, if you look up 'Lady From the Mountain' demo, a lot of which are from the Rock A Little sessions, you will hear that Moonlight is just an expansion of that song. Much as the Planets of the Universe that appeared on Trouble In Shangri-La was an adaption/expansion of the song of the same title she wrote in 1976.

@lakelandchief A bridge is essentially the turning point in a song, I guess you could say. It's usually a change-up musically that leads to the climax of the piece and connects two parts of a song together. Like, the bridge in Moonlight is the whole "strange, she laid on the floor in silent pain, strange, she sat in a chair for months just staring" It's kind of hard to explain but once you know what it is, you'll recognize them all the time in songs.
