When the Fed lowers lending rates, more people will take out loans and banks are more capable of borrowing money from the Fed b/c of low interest rates. This keeps housing prices high. Housing prices are too high, people can't afford them. This is just further proof of govt intervention being a BAD THING. In a free market, supply and demand would set the housing prices instead of the govt. In a free market, these prices would come down to prices affordable to buyers otherwise houses wont sell.
