  • why do the people at microsoft have to be fucking-faggots, they should of just kept the original HDD design for the new one. AM I RIGHT OR AM I RIGHT

  • You are a hippie!

  • Watching this video was as enjoyable as tweezing my pubic hair...

  • 3:09 actually she said it can go in many different ways

  • Lolz sit back and have a sandwhich xD.

  • Can you transfer your old xbox 360 profile to the new one with cable? please answer back

  • well guys, sit back and have a sandwich

  • it only goes in one way, thats what she said ;)

  • can you use your old xbox live profile in the new xbox

  • Nigga move yo fat head but nooo offense

  • like much the cable cost cuz i got an xbox today

  • How much does the transfer thing cost

  • @RobinHood1696 They JUST started selling an Xbox Slim hard drive adapter. I don't have one so I haven't tested it. In theory you will be able to use it like I used the fat HD adapter.

  • Okay i need help. How do you transfer data from the new slim hard drive into another new slim hard drive

  • Is it possible to just copy the data you want to transfer from an xbox 360 external hard drive by just using a usb drive and then pasting the data onto the xbox 360 slim?

  • Ok people who asked today Microsoft has JUST announced they will start selling an Xbox slim transfer cable. Keep your eyes out for it in stores.

  • @Maniac536 when i tansfer the memory will i need a password cause i dont

  • @Maniac536 i didnt finish the text sorry lol. i dont know my password

  • @avpandcog It transfers the live profile data over to the new storage medium. The only way live data is invalidated is if you manually log into a new xbox. Seriously though, not knowing your live password is really bad, if someone gains access to it fraudulently you won't be able to recover it. There are a few ways to reset it ranging from using live or calling xbox support.

  • @johncena0954 I'm unaware of such cable for the 360 but if it helps I know for a fact the ps3 can do it using just an Ethernet cable connecting two ps3s. This function was added with a firmware update a while ago.

  • @TomHeganFTW yes. I sold my old unit so I transferred my licenses before selling it. It was a painless process.

  • @Maniac536 is there a transfer cable slim to slim xbox? i want to transfer my stuff from black slim to gears of war slim because it has bigger hard drive.

  • did you transfer licences ?

  • @LinxWithATwist Make sure that your NEW hard drive is INSIDE the Xbox 360 and your OLD drive is connected with the transfer cable. Also make sure that your Xbox 360, if it's not a Slim, has recent firmware. If you have never connected a non slim Xbox 360 to Xbox Live, you probably don't have recent firmware. Plug the 360 into the internet using the ethernet port and either create a new Xbox Live profile in your new HD or upgrade one of your profiles in your old HD to a live one.

  • Hey can i transfer my old xbox with 103 GB to the new xbox with 4GB? please answer

  • @23ISLIFE You can transfer over the tinest percentage of that data, but you're better off buying a 250gb hd and transferring all of it.

  • @dansmellmyfart it will transfer the live account to the new hard drive. You may have to redownload the firmware when logging in but that's all.

  • only goes in one way "THATS WHAT SHE SED" ....lmaooo

  • thats the 250 gb ithe 250 gb xbox is shining and the 4 gb is not shining

  • @verac564 Yes I wanted a new xbox 360 that had a larger storage capacity than the hard drive I had for my model 1 Xbox. I watch a lot of game videos and install my games to the hard drive so I needed to space.

  • i connected it into the front and it worked

  • @jelleybean12 Thanks for that info. The original version of the transfer device (which required an included cd) required that the external drive be connected to the rear usb. I guess with that ability now part of the Xbox firmware they changed the policy.

  • @Iamjaredful I can't guarantee any of that because some dlc can corrupt during transfer but most won't and the devs know which game's this happens in. What does will have to be redownloaded. Alan Wake's dlc has this problem.

Xbox requirements used to require the new hard drive had to be bigger than the old one but with recent firmware I don't think that's the case any longer as the system did prompt me once to transfer all data on a larger hd to a smaller one.

  • @Maniac536 alright so i have purchased alot of DLC like map packs and game add-ons. Can you guarantee that it will be all saved once i transfer it? And can i tranfer all the data to the same size hard drive?

  • @Chotoii Also remember to make sure your NEW hard drive is inside the Xbox and the old one is attached to the cable. Otherwise the Xbox might not recognize the drives properly. Some people here have had that issue.

  • @chotoii If the xbox is a new slim it will have recent fw to do a transfer and you're just doing something wrong. If its a model 1, and you never logged into the net before you need an update. The fw automatically updates automatically whenever you plug the unit into the Internet and log into Xbox live.

If this is not possible you can update it manually by burning an update cd, details are in Xbox support files online. Follow their instructions to the T to update the Xbox.

  • so you can still sign into Xbox live if you had it on your old hard drive right??

  • @wweuniversewwe Your Xbox Live sign in data will transfer along with everything else to your new drive.

  • I tried plugging in the front, then in the rear, (thats what she said) but I never get the prompting screen! No response whatsoever :( what should I do ?

  • @Chotoii Turn your Xbox 360 off, plug it into the rear, then turn it on, you should get prompted in a few seconds. If you don't, your xbox has old firmware and MUST be updated to the latest version.

  • @Maniac536 It still didn't work ... how can I update the firmware? lol.

  • @Chotoii I'd suggest finding the CD for installation or just buying a 4gb HDD & using the transferer from that.

  • can a 60GB HDD harddrive (OLD) be transfered onto a 4GB 360 slim (NEW)

im worried that there wont be enough room please get back to me on this. (:

  • @RyanDenmead You're going to need enough space in your new unit to hold all your data. It's not going to transfer your game installs so don't worry about that, just all your dlc, xbla games, and videos.

I recomend buying a 250gb slim hd and installing it into your slim before doing the data transfer.

  • @Maniac536 thank you very much for helping me. i have now purchased a 250gb slim hard drive & and a HDD Hard Drive Transfer cable.

    cheers mate, RyanDenmead.

  • Chuck Norris jr!

  • SO HELPFUL!!! I'M OVERFILLED WITH JOY - CUS OF YOU MY FRIEND. MANY THANKS!!!!!

  • It's not a good idea to use a second hard drive as a second storage device. The 360 wipes any data transferred from the original drive. You're better off selling the old drive or using it in a different 360.

  • w8 a sec you transfer the data or can you use it as a storage device to save stuff?

  • It's there. A wii too.

  • A sony tv??? I hope to God you have a PS3 hooked up to that.

  • @SuperSonic1345 Your brother's slim doesn't have a hard drive. You'll need to buy one and install it in order to play Halo Reach co-op, or Xbox 1 games. Make sure when you buy a hard drive it's the model for the slim and not the original model.

  • Quick question. My brother was given an Xbox 360 Slim for Christmas and a copy of Halo:Reach, but is unable to play Campaign and Firefight due to an obscene message saying "One or more players is missing a Hard Drive, which is required to play this playlist." Is their anyway to work a Hard Drive into the Slim itself and keep it attatched?...Or is the Slim just a black box of crap and $200+ of worthlessness?

  • you look like chuck norris's son------thank you!----fucking awesome dude

  • "that's what she said"

  • my xbox got RROD before christmas! do you know if it's still possible to transfer my data to my new xbox?

  • @danrees100 If you are using an older Xbox, just yank out the old style hard drive from the side. I know I should've shown that step but I just didn't think of it. If you're using a new internal Hard Drive which are used with the Slim 360s, I don't know how to access the drive on those just yet.

You should be able to recover your data just fine though from an old (fat) 360 to a new (slim) one no problem.

  • @Maniac536 thanks

  • @Maniac536 thanks

  • You look like Chuck Norris's son.

  • @UnitedPlayahz Thank you.

  • @r1ckyp33

Check the earlier comment on page. I typed in your username wrong. The new hard drive MUST be installed inside xbox 360 before transfer starts, otherwise it probably won't format properly. Make sure you have the latest firmware installed before transfer.

  • @Maniac536 thanks man

  • @r1cky33

    1. No. No transfer of account required, your account info automatically transfers with the rest of your data.

    2. If you're transferring data into a brand spanking new hard drive, that hard drive must be physically installed into the xbox 360 before you can transfer data. Remove your current one, install the new one. Connect the OLD hard drive to the cable, connect cable to rear USB. Turn on xbox. You should have the data transfer prompt in a few seconds.

  • this might sound stuped but i nead help with this because i dont no if its a fucked up cable or no so...

    1. do u have to recover gamer tag on new xbox befor dowing this

    2. im geting the same thing as 306741lock with it asking me to wipe ma hard drive and also my cabel is from china (£3.50 not £15)

3.at 4:41 when u turn on the tv amd that thing pops up i dont get that lool i no i probely sound stuped but i dont have a fucking cule lol and its like 5:10 am lol so plz can u help me

  • @r1ckyp33 you spelled stupid wrong... stupid...

  • @Fluffer4Fun aww uck off ya wee immigrant i hit e when it was ment to b i :O omfg TWAT !

  • That's the message you get when inserting an unformatted USB memory stick. What are you connecting to the xbox, a blank drive?

  • What if it says "This device isn't set up for Xbox 360 storage. Do you want to configure it?" do I put yes or what?

  • @306741lock Are you using a third party HD or memory stick? If you're using a USB memory card that's fine. If you're using a previously existing fat Xbox 360 Hard Drive and it's telling you that....don't say yes, you'll likely wipe the drive.

  • @Maniac536 Im transferring my 120gb hd to my 250gb hd (they're both the fat ones) and when I connect the new 250gb to my xbox and go to transfer content it says that. The cable is from china so idk should I get the US one?

  • @306741lock Yes, I'm worried if you said "yes" you'd wipe the old drive.

  • @306741lock You need the new drive (the larger one) inside the Xbox 360 in the HD's regular spot in the side of the Xbox. Connect the old 120gb drive (with all your data) to the data cable, and .plug it into the back usb port. You should not get a warning then, and instead it'll just transfer your data outright just like the video prescribed. LIkely the warnings were coming because the 250 gb is new.

Make sure you have recent firmware already installed in your xbox 360.
