  • looks like your engine is loose or blade is off balance.

  • @495891 The camera framerate makes it look much worse, but it does have a bent crank.

  • its not running because you have the big screw missing in the carby that holds the air filter down thus making your air fuel ratio out dumb ass!

  • @pitbully666 Its ethanol, dumb-ass! Theese carbs\fuel tanks are marked specifically "use NON E85, Regular GAS ONLY". There is a reason for that, they were simply not designed to run on ethanol. (max 5% Ethanol).

  • You have to change the carb jetting to run ethanol. This isn't news.

  • @GammaRadiation1 The jet is easy to replace\resize since it is made of plastic. However, you have to replace the whole carb since it is allso made of plastic. Certan plastic types will warp if "exposed" to ethanol (not sure if this one will). And the rubber diafragm and gaskets has to be replaced as well, since strong ethanol blends will dissolve theese.

  • In order to use the lawnmower with only e85 you need to put in a bigger jet into the carb for the best fuel/air mixture.

  • Use 50% Gas 50% E85 Check filters regularly

  • e85 also makes the engine run MUCH hotter than it normally would. Which is very bad. Those little Briggs engines and Honda GC, GCV, GSV 160/190's have soft aluminum bores that don't like to run hot at all. Which means you need to run the engine very rich. Oh and just so you know most lawn mower engines will make there rated power around 3,400 to 3,600 RPM.

  • E85 is a cocktail, too much alcohol and the engine runs weak but it works most of the time. Here in Brazil, when the Flex engines was not an option, we deliberately blend E20 with E100 forcing cars with petrol only engines runs on E50 or even more, obviously, when the ethanol price was attractive to compensate the damage.

  • has a higher octane rating

  • the one thing that I seen in the video was the fact that the choke was constantly being pumped which would explain the reason that it kept wanting to flood out, plus if that was the first time that E85 was put in it, then you should know that it takes a couple of tanks of E85 to clean it out and remove build up and then it should run better, you can adjust the jet valve to Improve performance during the cleaning process which should be only a few times, ( two or three).

  • If you adjust the fuel mixture it will run fine!!!!!! Ethenol is leaning out the fuel mixture!

  • @rbow71 Ethanol has 34% less BTU content per unit volume than gasoline. Look it up. Each unit of ethanol gives 20-30% less output compared to gasoline. This, plus the fact that the CORN industry lobby is adamant about using ONLY corn as opposed to sugar beets and more economically feasible crops, the trade-off is a net loss. It damages older (8+ years old) engines. I went thru the FIRST failed ethanol attempt years ago. It attacks aluminum and rubber hoses and gaskets that weren't made for it.

  • @Raoul3657 yes but that is because those engines were built to run gas. new diesels are made to run petro diesel and not biodiesel but the engine was designed to run on the bio variant. at that time the engines were designed from conception to run ethanol and vegetable oil. dont criticise the fuel because we stopped making engines that would burn them. criticise the people that stopped making the engines that burned the fuel people could make for themselves

  • sounds cool lol

  • The way you tilted the mower, caused oil to pure into the carburetor. To get the gas out, just run it until the tank is empty.

  • @rhoadess I know, I did it on purpose. But I know of a much better way of removing old fuel from tank, without wasting oil life and valuable time. Tilting the engine with the muffler down will cause oil to get into the carb, doing it the other way will not.

  • @Da9eI GOD PLEASE TELL ME YOU EMPTYED THE CARB AFTERWARDS... did you? not good to let that fuel sit.

  • @pcblah Of cource I did. Dont worry :) Though, even for the 30 minutes I used this fuel, the diafragm stiffened up quite a bit. Ran lean on gas, but got better after the first tank of regular gas.

  • Alcohol leans the fuel mixture.fattening it up will help.

  • KILLER thanks for the video. Just today my mom called me for this reson, can fine first 2 times cutting now it won't start at all. After checkin oil and what not THAN I noticed the lil "DO NOT USE E 85 GAS" sticker at the gas fill. I don't think anyone around my area sells NON E85 gas.

  • thanks for the video

  • well for one thing i see you have a spring that isnt even attached to the governor so it sure wont run without that being attached .

  • @learflyer2: That was intended, its easyer to control engine speed without.

If the spring was attached, the throttle would be wide open all the time because it runs so lean, it would simply stall the engine. It did get better when the engine warmed up, and were able to attach the gov spring without stalling the engine.

  • they barely run if at all with out adjustment and it smells funny

  • this thing is full of horse ass the way this thing runs on E85

  • mine doesnt have an ajustable card its a 2001 briggs 35 classic but i think the carbs cracked up as the the diaphrams all creased

  • This could be done on the older engines with the adjustable carb. It doesn't sound too far off. Though, I don't see why it would be necessary to use E85. Even the reformulated gas is junk, I think.

  • The fuel/air ratio on your engine is set for gasoline. Duh..

Ask the Indianapolis 500 racers how they build engines to run on ethanol. They get more performance and greater fuel mileage on ethanol.

Spark timing and fuel/air mixture settings have to be adjusted.

  • i tried it in my mini bike did the same thing
