So a Dalish elf has a 1 hour origin story then you arrive on the main story which can take upto 100 hours to do everything espeically with the Ultimate edition which has DA:O,DA:A and all the DLC released on the discs.
This is a RPG, AC series which is amaing is a third person action adventure game and Batman which is another amazing game is a 3rd person action/adventure game.

@smackedinthejaw well the mage is a must. I would tell you to play with the second mage too which she can heal. With those two you need at least one warrior and whatever else you want
@topografer I played a 3rd time and exchanged my 3rd warrior for a rogue (dual weapons) which may have evend it out a little. I dunno about having a second mage due to the weak hand-to-hand and armour values, I'd rather just have the one mage at a distance and the other 3 up close hacking and slashing. I also found that overall a two handed warrior>>>sword and shield due to the general ability to deal with crowds and stay in control of the fight
I hate RPGs like this its so typical to see an RPG look like its in Medieval times Im a more Final Fantasy,Mass Effect 2, and Borderlands kind of guy dont get me wrong Dragon age is a good game it just doesnt grab my attention because of where it is set im still waiting for an RPG that just goes over the top where you can pull magic attacks that are so big and so powerfull it just makes you want more

@Jr777Warrior Oblivion is a horrible game. Oblivion has a shitty story, loads every 2 seconds, terrible class design, and worst of all the... the pathetic combat system. the only thing Oblivion has going for it is how you can explore everywhere, but it all looks the same.
This game has easily one of the best stories ever as you can choose how you want to play it out. Combat is crazy fun as is all the classes. Honestly, this game is nothing like Oblivion.

@Jr777Warrior All RPG's you can play for hours on end and I couldn't stand the combat. But, to each their own.
If you buy DA:O - make sure it's a new copy because you get free stuff like Shale's expansions (The Stone Prisoner)... it's 15 bucks otherwise and well worth it. Just remember it's a story driven game and a lot more like WoW and less like Oblivion.
Never played Demon Souls but I hear it's good, but can be very hard.

@richie1303 you can hotkey up to 6 spells or abilities.
i think pausing is essential if you wanna set up certain combinations.
also you have combat tactics which you can assign to yourself and/or your allies so that they can activate certain abilities or spells or even items when certain situations occur for example..if morrigans health reaches < 25% she will use a health poultice or if she is surrounded by # of enemies she will activate mind blast or somthing like that.
yea but the game is very unforgiving if you dont use tactics.
plus you cant be good at everything so you have teammates that make traps or poisons or potions while others can pickpocket, detect enemies, or even lock-pick.
you cant do everything so its good to have teammates with you at all times.
@ZonixZ59706090 it depends what sort of style/setting you prefer. If you like space and science fiction, than mass effect 2. But if you don't than get dragon age origins.
I like basically, as much customization as possible, like WoW, looting, cool weapons you find on your way/buying them spells bosses and stuff. I just tried WoW Trial and it was pretty fun, and my friend told me Dragon age is like wow, oblivion and lord of the rings combined :)

excellent looking game, only trouble is i've played a lot of bioware PC titles and never played one on a console... now I could only get it on Xbox 360 but a lot of the reviews slate the controls and over-simplified / easy game play on the console ports :(

If you prefer playing the lone warrior with a sandbox playfield - the Oblivion.
Personally, I felt Oblivion highly over-rated, but lots of people like it so it has something going for it...

I beat EVERY game I played, no games exist that I find hard, but gears was an easy ass game on it's most difficult oblivion was much harder on it's hardest, but some people just suck at rpg games, I never said anything about a game SUCKING that's only an opinion and if ANYONE disagrees with that then they need to go back to grade school what someone thinks about ANYTHING is an opinion and that's just mine

@Jr777Warrior Oblivion is a horrible game. Oblivion has a shitty story, loads every 2 seconds, terrible class design, and worst of all the... the pathetic combat system. the only thing Oblivion has going for it is how you can explore everywhere, but it all looks the same.
This game has easily one of the best stories ever as you can choose how you want to play it out. Combat is crazy fun as is all the classes. Honestly, this game is nothing like Oblivion.

@cruzin1440 acually oblivion is one of the top rated rpgs for ps3..story is good and 200 hours of gameplay quests..though yes i have to agree classes are fucked up but combat is good...im thinking about getting this game or demons souls..hard choice :(

@Jr777Warrior All RPG's you can play for hours on end and I couldn't stand the combat. But, to each their own.
If you buy DA:O - make sure it's a new copy because you get free stuff like Shale's expansions (The Stone Prisoner)... it's 15 bucks otherwise and well worth it. Just remember it's a story driven game and a lot more like WoW and less like Oblivion.
Never played Demon Souls but I hear it's good, but can be very hard.

totally cool its often played around christmas time with my mum and dad they are incredibly good at it. utterly free for my ps3 from here; 115 games. com they have literally hundreds and the best thing is they are all free too oh btw 1:10 was striking

@richie1303 you can hotkey up to 6 spells or abilities.
i think pausing is essential if you wanna set up certain combinations.
also you have combat tactics which you can assign to yourself and/or your allies so that they can activate certain abilities or spells or even items when certain situations occur for example..if morrigans health reaches < 25% she will use a health poultice or if she is surrounded by # of enemies she will activate mind blast or somthing like that.
good game imo.

yea but the game is very unforgiving if you dont use tactics.
plus you cant be good at everything so you have teammates that make traps or poisons or potions while others can pickpocket, detect enemies, or even lock-pick.
you cant do everything so its good to have teammates with you at all times.

I like basically, as much customization as possible, like WoW, looting, cool weapons you find on your way/buying them spells bosses and stuff. I just tried WoW Trial and it was pretty fun, and my friend told me Dragon age is like wow, oblivion and lord of the rings combined :)

excellent looking game, only trouble is i've played a lot of bioware PC titles and never played one on a console... now I could only get it on Xbox 360 but a lot of the reviews slate the controls and over-simplified / easy game play on the console ports :(
