  • If you were only going to buy / use one sequencer, which would it be: RS7000 or RM1X ? I can ony afford one ... cheers!

  • The O.S Rules, and so does your song man great work.I have a question about song mode.I noticed all of your track lights were lit,I know how those work, but you did write this track in song mode?I know all there is to know about the RS,accept song mode.I would greatly appreciate it if you can walk me through the process of song mode.Thank you

  • Hey thank you for the nice comment. I wish I could help you with the Song mode but I am afraid I am just like you, I know nothing, if lucky very little about the song mode because I never used them. Neither on my RS-7000 or my RM1X the smaller sister. I went as far as using chain pattern mode, but never the song mode on both machines. So I could use a lesson on that section myself. Cheers.

really cool, do you know of anywhere I can get hold of programs on smartmedia card for my RS7000 ?

am finding it really hard to even program drums !!!

  • Hey Thank you for the comment. I am not sure how to answer your question? Can you be more specific. What kind of smart media programs are you talking about? Is it adding new sounds or some new tools for sequencer editing? I am just guessing here because I did not know that there are any additional tools on smart media cards. The only thing I know of is to upgrade the Operating System. This will give you more tools flexibility and additional combination for editing sounds and sequencing aspects.

  • Obee

what am saying here is that on my current 64mb smartmedia card are programs ( from the previous owner ) ie, a song , tracks, certain beats , sounds, synth, etc.

So i dont have to program the machine myself, if i had other songs from other users on smartmedia i could load them into my rs 7000 and then play them.

if I just had some drum patterns other than the ones pre-set then I would have soem beats to work from.

    regards

    Colin

  • Wow!!! that is really cool. I guess I am going to do some research around and see if I can find something like this myself. i would love to get this kind of expansion for my RS7000. Cheers.

  • obee

just bought a rs7000, all my other music gear gone.

will I have fun with it ?

  • If you know how to use it. Yes absolutely. This thing is so flexible I keep finding new ways to compose my music on this amazing engineering marvel. Cheers.

  • cool

  • Thanx

  • where did you get the stands?

  • guitar center, Cheers

  • hello again.

so does the rmx1 sort of make a keyboard ( say my radias ) of no use ?

dont want to just play / mix over some sounds I can produce on my radias wanted to sample them into a machine and then add other layers plus drums.

sort of a novice at all this !

  • no rm1x is a great remixer and hardware sequencer but it can not substitute the engine of your radias with all the controllers. You can use the rm1x to sequence and possibly control many of the parameters of your radias for complex sequencing and live performing. Korg has amazing quality equipment especially when it comes to pads and electronic sounds. Cheers.

  • oh. will the rm1 sample as well

  • no unfortunately Rm1x does not have sampling capabilities.

  • can you trigger the virus using the Yam rm1. i wish to do this with my Radias kybd.

    thanks

  • yes you can. However just want to let you know that for some reason when I was trying to input midi data into my Rm1x. My rm1x was not to cooperative and it would do some freak strange uncontrolled changes with my seq mixes. So I would exclusively control outside units with rm1x, but avoided to do vice versa. Other wise than that I Love the rm1x and in some ways I thought it was better build than my RS7000. However RS7000 surpasses the rm1x in many other ways. Cheers.

  • You prob aint got the latest software..the guys on the Rm1x yahoo group will get ya sorted out. Mine used to do strange stuff when trying to work with other gear, I had the old OS.

  • I am sorry for this delayed response to your comment. For some reason I have entirely missed it and I always try to reply to all the comments on my videos. By the way could you tell me who should I talk to about the OS upgrade to my rm1x and what would be the procedure for me. Do I have to physically exchange a peace of hardware inside my unit or do I just upload the new OS via midi, Cheers.

  • U do need to physically add a new chip, They are or were available from Yamaha for $50, you can do it yourself, or send it to a Authorized Yamaha service center.

  • Hey thank you for your time an help, Cheers

  • WIsh I never sold my RM1X, hands down best Hardware Seq. Old OS would do bad things with sync to electribes and horrible things with my triton, I than went PC instead of upgrading but I hear the upgrade solved the issues. Everyone says the RM1x has bad sounds but i disagree, you do have to put time nad love inti t for it to love you back,

  • loko em. . .

  • Happy Birthday!!!

  • You posted this vid on my birthday. And since I love electronic and ambiental music I'll give to this 5 stars.
