Look at her. Look at her and find out what passion is. Look at her and find out what talent is. Just look at her and you will understand how the music should have been nowdays.
To the guy who said that she was just a junkie, she had a shit life, she was bullied all her life. When she sings, can't you hear her pain? She was a human being, she was amazing and no matter what she did to herself, she didn't deserve to die and demands the same respect as anyone else. I hope your children don't dabble in drink and drugs, I fear that with your attitude, you will not be there to help them.
No respect she is drunken and full of drugs why take care of persons who destroy themselves?? This is nothing special. she died young no reason to make her holy. Too many drugs lead to self destruction. So it goes. Bad example for young people.
@TheRitterX th eonly one that is concentrating on her drug use is you the reason people "make her holy" is because she was a beautiful person inside and out and on top of everything she obviously has talent and can sing. that's why she's very famous and people love her not because of her drug use or because she died young. all ofher fans know drugs are bad...
@julio18p o.k. it is only me. and why she died young? use once in your livetime your brain and find it out. People can destroy their lives but it is not my job to celebrate them for this.
BlayMed should go back to watching justin bieber videos. This is Janis' style of singing and if you don't like it... don't click on her videos! I wonder... what makes people like BlayMed click on videos like this???
I cant help it,but I keep getting the feeling that she was crying out for help and she knew that she was going to die, by listening to the lyrics in this song and I just wish people could have seen a prayer for her instead of applauding.RIP Janis
I think Janis is the only singer who can simultaneously make the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end and make my nipples go all hard and pointy.

@DHspacer That's why it was called SOUL music. Music that you had to reach right down into your very soul to pull off. Some claimed tha tonly TRUE suffering would allow you to reach such depts.
The drinking and drugs were an attempt to mask the pain. Thankfully, she was able to release some of the pain through her music. That's what you hear and what you feel, and what made her phenomenal.

Im crying as I watch this because Ive realised that my birthday is soon and it makes me older than Janis ever was. Ive loved her since I was 18 and always thought of her as being so much older, she really wasn't. x
@esmozg She definitely did, I mean when I was 18 I thought she was so much older and wiser but now Im her age I realise she was still such a young soul, a little girl :)
dont get me wrong..I love Janis...but it's still a loser from Texas with a great voice getting a break at a mud hole in upstate NY..sort of funny..................
It's so sad to think that, in the same world where we live now, happy, deep, and lovely times, as the '70s existed, and now, we have all this crap, this dirty crap, mindless people, futile, disgusting. These '70s stuff are really a light in the darkness.
This song realy touch my heart. Is like she's narrating her own life in a prayer....In a song...Who knows Janis life knows what I'm talking about. God bless U Janis.

If you need a Janis fix, check out LAYLA ZOE (pronounced Lay-la Zo) - "Canada's Darlin' of the Blues". She sounds like Janis and looks eerily similar to her. She's been called "Janis Reincarnated" by many big names in the business. She's huge in Canada and Europe! Search her on here, Facebook and Myspace. You won't regret it!

@DEI420 what does liking rap have to do with anything. I like rap and I like this too.....grow up, How can u criticize an entire genre of music based on the small portion that u deem untalented?
I grew up in Grenwich Villagae New York between St Marks Place and Second Avenue, Lower East Side. I began living in the streets at 15 yrs old and I went to Woodstock! I LOVE the era of time! We aere all happy, free and the epole you listen to now, like Janis, Cohen, Buckley , Hendrix, Joe Cocker, The Who etc were just like you and me. Cool, always ready to share a doobie or whatever. The World now doesn't have such Glorified Freedom! I wish !Ritchie Havens sang it all in "Freedom"!!!!!

Oh well, i still think its a great performance and love this woman dearly RIP
I love Janis Joplin and I own just about everything she recorded, but I don't think this is her best performance. She was taking a lot of heroin at the time, and arrived at the site about 10 hours before she had to go on stage, which unfortunately gave her the time to get trashed. The power is there in her voice, the music isn't. Loving a person's work sometimes means acknowledging when they're not so good; anything else is the just blind worship of an icon, not genuine respect for their talent.
Look at her. Look at her and find out what passion is. Look at her and find out what talent is. Just look at her and you will understand how the music should have been nowdays.
