Hmm any tips on how i can join a college soccer team in the US?Currently a college player in my school in Asia and sad to say the standard may be a bit higher in the US. Or any recommendations for a coach and stuff?
search colleges and universities in the US on google. and go to their athletics site. find the mens soccer page. most colleges/universities will have a "prospective athelte" or "athletic questionare" page. if there is one then fill it out. and see if there is any info about the coach on the website. if so, then try to contact him/her and see where it goes from there. there are thousands of colleges/universities in the US that have a mens soccer program, i'm sure someone will take you.
well there's 3 divisions in the NCAA. and there's 2 in NAIA. and another 2 in NCCAA. plus NJCAA has 2 i believe. so just in US college alone there's about 9 divisions of soccer. i'm willing to be these guys play in NCAA D-3. these guys play for Consumnes River College which is a NJCAA school. And they were 12-12 this year. They suck.
dont be foolish.these keepers are playing at a poor enough level in america and are streets off pro level. If you are good enough, you should be playing at a high level in england sure there are sooo many pro clubs there.if you are good enough you should be playin pro level mate
im a keeper and my strength in my left wrist has gone away to the point that i cant catch the ball and now im uncomfortable to dive on my left side any help ?
dude, same happened to me, i broke both wrists and was out for months, u just gotta keep practising an never give up, also dont just practice in your training sessions head down to your local park or football pitch with some mates and train there to. remember, keep going and soon enough youll be like a cat between the sticks.
p.s message me for updates on how you doing if u want drill tips.
Scott Carson is very good. Even the best make mistakes. I watched the highlights of an Arsenal game and Scott Carson kept his team in the game. The U.k. have some great keepers as well, i.e. David James.
Jesus Christ, it's a joke. All I know is that if he were any good he'd play for England. At best he's only ever considered for the squad. Compared to Italy's and particularly Spain's goalkeepers, noone comes close - end of conversation
all I am saying here is that the keepers in England aren't so superior to those in the US, just look at the number of American keepers in the Premiership...
ok, look at the amount of brits imported into the collegiate system.
im an australian as such having no bias. we dont have any good keepers. schwarzer is alright in the premiership. plays better for australia than he does for borough. kalac played well last champions league game for milan. not much else
back to my point, im sure that the number of brits in the collegiate system is simliar (proportionately) to the amount of americans in the premiership - of which i can only think of friedel
Brad Friedel (Blackburn Rovers) Tim Howard (Everton) Kasey Keller (Fulham) Marcus Hahnemann (Reading) Quienten Westberg (Troyes) Troy Perkins (DC United) the U.S. has many top quality keepers. Hell Tim Howard was prem keeper of the year in 02/03 i think it was. When he played at Man U. So there are many great keepers in the Prem as well as other top leagues. But Quentin Westberg is gonna be the best, hands down.
do some dead lifts, they help with wrist and finger strength

All of these players displayed the same major technique flaws. They looked poorly coached. Great athleticism, but very flawed mechanically.

David James doesn't even have a last name let alone any goalkeeping skills. He's average. That's why he plays for Portsmouth.
menghy 4 years ago
You don't judge goalkeepers on their last name. I've only watched him a few times but when I have he's kept portsmouth in the game.
