When they ship hogs in that cold of weather the close up the sides of the trailer and yet leave enough vents on the trailer to keep fresh air to the hogs. Drivers moniter the trailers to make sur that it is not to hot or cold in there. I know this for a fact because i am a hog farmer.
ya and if it was that cold that skid loader problly wouldnt even run and the frozen hogs are hogs thats were dead on arival and waiting to be picked up by a render truck so they can make products that go in everyones cat and dogs food
Yes, the windchill while they are being TRANSPORTED reaches that. I would think that any animal would have severe problems starting at -30. Also, the write up for this videos says transported from Canada where it can easily reach -50 in high elevations.
@edifieryou 70 below, Yes it can get 70 below this is windchill, just having the wind blow when you are standing outside can get to 30 below or colder now imagine the wind blowing at you at 100km/hr.

Yeah, KFC is the big one for chicken, but I've found that not eating any beef or pork makes you feel better in general. Chicken adn fish are great, but get the store frozen kind. Fish die quickly enough out of water and chickens get a whack to the head, not too bad compared to cows and pigs.

its so hard to not eat meat , i love eating meat. but i hate how the animals are treated ... do i just eat meat from natural food stores that say free range or do they all get mistreated? ...so depressing

it is possible to buy free range meat that was treated with dignity. the only thing with free range is they wont be as tender. the reason they dont let the livestock move is because the more their muscles work out, the less tender they'll be, and the public likes tenderness. you'll have to tenderize the meat more, but a small price to pay for animals being treated with respect. you wont find this meat in supermarkets tho. try butcher shops and ask them.
maybe just maybe, if the farms and transporters and all the people who are involved in getting a group of pigs from one point to another treated those animals better there wouldnt be a huge pile of dead ones rotting on the lot........... just a thought

Yeah, KFC is the big one for chicken, but I've found that not eating any beef or pork makes you feel better in general. Chicken adn fish are great, but get the store frozen kind. Fish die quickly enough out of water and chickens get a whack to the head, not too bad compared to cows and pigs.
