they sold a lot of ablums (shame about ray, come on feel...) and had a relatively long career, they had been around for 7 years before this. Constant line up changes and smoking crack, eventually didn't help though.

Mid-late 80s, early 90s--a great time in music, I agree. The world of post-punk really brought out some of the greatest music in rock history, in my opinion. Far superior to anything in the 60s and 70s. More interesting and diverse and substantive and down to earth.
